Dr. Jonathan B. Levine, an oral health expert who appears on "The Dr. Oz Show," is a world-renowned aesthetic dentist, author, inventor, and an active philanthropist. Below, Dr. Levine shares why good oral health is so important and how you can power up your own oral care routine with Oral-B.
Why is oral health so important?
The human body works as a whole, which means good oral health habits are an important part of your overall well-being. It is important to care for your teeth and gums to prevent issues like gum disease and promote overall oral health. While a good oral care routine includes seeing your dentist regularly, it’s also imperative to take care of your mouth between visits. We need to challenge Americans to think preventively and develop an everyday oral health routine that is good for them.
What is your #1 tip for patients looking to improve their oral health?
To brush and floss at least twice daily. I recommend they make the switch to using a rechargeable power toothbrush, like one from the Oral-B Professional Care Series. It reduces and reverses gingivitis for healthier gums in 30 days.
Why Oral-B Power?
With their unique oscillating, rotating and pulsating technology, Oral-B power toothbrushes reach deep between teeth and along the gum line for a thorough clean, removing twice the amount of plaque as a regular manual toothbrush.

How do Oral-B power toothbrushes compare to sonic technology?
The unique design of Oral-B power toothbrushes mimic the round shape of dentists’ cleaning tools for an amazing, tooth-by-tooth clean.
How do Oral-B power toothbrushes compare to regular manual toothbrushes?
Power toothbrushes mimic the round shape of dentists’ cleaning tools for an amazing, tooth-by-tooth clean and remove up to twice as much plaque as a regular manual toothbrush. Additionally, with so many different types and features available, it’s easy to find one that suits your specific oral health needs.
According to a 2005 independent study, "Brushes that worked with a rotation oscillation action removed more plaque and reduced gingivitis more effectively than manual brushes in the short and long-term... No other powered brush designs were consistently superior..."** Oral-B pioneered this oscillating-pulsating and cupping power technology in 1991 and has incorporated it into its premium power toothbrush range ever since.
What customized brushing mode does the Professional 1000 feature?
The Professional 1000 features the Daily Clean mode, designed for exceptional mouth cleaning. It removes up to five times more plaque along the gumline.*
Which brush heads are compatible?
All of the following Oral-B brush heads are compatible with the Oral-B Professional 1000: FlossAction, ProWhite, Precision Clean, Sensitive Clean, Dual Clean, Power Tip, and Ortho.
What’s the importance of the pressure sensor?
It’s important to brush gently to promote proper cleaning. The pressure sensor lets you know when you’re brushing too hard, which can cause the bristles to bend and wear out quickly, resulting in less than optimal cleaning.
How long does the Professional 1000 hold a charge?
A fully charged Oral-B Professional 1000 lasts for up to seven days with regular use. To ensure that your battery is able to hold its maximum capacity, deplete the battery by using without in-between charges until it is fully discharged. Do this at least once every six months for best results.

I had an old one of these for about 25 years! It only just gave up. This one is more compact and takes less room (the stand) on the sink - I love it.Published 18 hours ago by sr
This is a replacement for an Oral-B that finally died after many years of service. When this one dies mamy years form now I will replace it with another Oral-BPublished 3 days ago by azres
We bought it to replace an older model which I wish we still had. First, the packaging is excessive and wasteful. The toothbrush is adequate, has a low somewhat unpleasant pitch. Read morePublished 9 days ago by William J. Todino
