I'm afraid I found it rather a disappointment, the pages are alphabetical by state which makes it rather difficult to follow an inter-state journey, the detail of conurbations is not good, its quite often difficult to see which way junctions face for example. At something more than a dollar per page of map its not cheap either. However on the plus side, ownership of lines is clear and the printing is bright and very clear.

We found it very useful, as non-US people, for understanding the routings of different freight trains. It has been a helpful reference book for us. Unfortunately it lacks detail on commuter railway networks, such as in the Northeast - but that was not why we bought the book!
