5.0 out of 5 stars One of a kind book on important PMP exam areas
This single-topic, 208 page book focuses on preparing you for two aspects of the PMP exam:

(1) the situational questions, of which there can be as many as 150
(2) professional responsibility questions

Both aspects are barriers to passing the exam and this book is probably the most complete and definitive guide you can study to prepare for these exam areas.

1.0 out of 5 stars Duplicates questions
Certainly this is a fine book. However over 50% of the questions are also in the excellent publication "PMP Exam Prep: A course in a book." If you already have the, "PMP Exam Prep: A course in a book", I would recommend purchasing a different book than this Pocket Guide. I liked Kim Heldman's "PMP Project Management Professional."

1.0 out of 5 stars Rita is in the ethical grey zone..., October 13, 2004

This review is from: Professional Responsibility and Situational Qanda: Sample Questions on the PMP Exam (Paperback)
Rita's new books has only ** 1 ** question that was NOT in her other book (PMP Exam Prep)!
I enjoyed her PMP Exam Prep study guide and I was looking forward to additional practice on the situational topics. I figured that even if 50% of the questions were repeats (as one reviewer noted), then I would still get value. Unfortunately, there was NO new material. Worse, for explanations, she tells you to look at her other book.
As a PMP who signed off on the code of ethics, I am not sure that she should be engaging in this behavior...
Shame, Shame, Shame...

1.0 out of 5 stars Almost all questions are from "PMP Exam Prep (4th Edition)", September 16, 2004
This review is from: Professional Responsibility and Situational Qanda: Sample Questions on the PMP Exam (Paperback)
Deeply disappointed. Most of the questions are from Rita's another book "PMP Exam Prep (4th Edition)". Buying "PMP Exam Prep (4th Edition)" is enough. Don't waste your money on this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great exam prep material!, February 26, 2011

This review is from: Professional Responsibility and Situational Qanda: Sample Questions on the PMP Exam (Paperback)
These 150 questions really validate your testing skills and knowledge, especially in the professional PMI Code of Ethics area (Respect, Responsibility, Honesty and Fairness).

I didn't use any of her other books for my exam prep, so these questions were all new to me. I just took (and passed!) PMI's PMP certification exam on 2/23/11 (only a few days ago) and I found this book to be a very useful study aid. The questions ranged in difficulty from average to almost difficult or tricky, and really forced you to carefully read the question, search for the real question (while weeding out any extra information), and pick the BEST answer. Using these questions and that process really prepared me for what the actual exam questions were like, as very few were straight forward calculations or definitions. You have over 1min per question (200 questions in 4hrs), so it pays to throughly read each question, instead of racing through the question and picking the answer that jumps out at you as the correct one.

Based on this one book alone, i would say Rita's questions were a little bit harder than the average exam question, which also makes this a valuable study aid. If you can answer the majority of the questions correctly and feel comfortable in doing so, you're on your way to passing the exam.

This is a pocket-sized book, so it's easy to take anywhere and study a few questions at a time. There is no fluff in the book, only 150 questions, followed by 150 answers. Some answers are simple and some more complex, allowing you to see what steered you wrong if you answered incorrectly. I rated it only 4 stars because many of the answers referenced her exam prep books/pages, which i found inconvenient because i didnt have them, only the PMBOK guide 4th ed. and some others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Professional Responsibility and Situational Questions, October 7, 2002

This review is from: Professional Responsibility and Situational Qanda: Sample Questions on the PMP Exam (Paperback)
I hesitated when purchasing this pocket book because of the price; however, it is worth the $$. The questions are complex. Complex in that you are often asked to pick the BEST answer, so they are designed to really make you evaluate your pick. The book is divided out into the nine knowledge areas. The answers are in the back of the book with the explanations. Each answer also has a supporting reference and a page number via the coordinating PMP Exam Prep, version 3. I think this is a great little study guide. A PMP studier in Georgia.
