Product Description

Brand new Bug detector. Detects all hidden cameras and bugs. This unit has an audio and vibration mode. The beeps get stronger in the presence of any bugs or cameras along with LED's that show strength in signal. Each unit comes in it's very on padded box with instructions, and earphones. This unit requires (2)AAA Batteries (not included). This radio frequency detector truly separates itself from the rest of them and I think you will agree. RF detectors are simply a radio frequency receiving device. They are designed to detect wireless signals that are being transmitted within a certain frequency range. For example a wireless hidden camera is designed to transmit video to a video receiver. Some wireless transmitters are designed to transmitt as far as 3 miles away while others can only be received one room away. So the stronger the signal being transmitted the easier it is for the detector to detect it. Some micro spy cams are designed to output a very low signal making them very hard to detect. You may need to be very close to the camera or bug to detect it. They are designed this way not to be easily detected. The problem is if the detector is too sensitive it gives a false alarm. If it is not sensitive enough it does not detect the signal well enough. This is what separates this detector from some of the others you see. It has a built in sensitivity adjustment allowing you to detect those not so easy to detect wireless transmitters. You can sweep the suspect area then gradually increase the sensitivity until you eventually hone in on the target. It has a silent vibrate mode as well so you can use it without it sounding an audible alarm. It also has an earphone jack so if you choose you can use the included earphones while making your sweep.

I don't see how a lot of people find this faulty. The sensitivity plays a big part in how to operate it. For some of you I may think have set it too high and you are picking up radio station waves which produces a false positive. Try adjusting until it just doesn't pick up a signal. I tested after adjusting the sensitivity and had it close to my phone. No reading from the bug detector. Then I made a phone call and instantaneously it started indicating a radio signal from my phone, first pulsating as it was connecting then a complete reading after I was connected with my house phone that I called. Also you have to know what your looking at when using this product. Just about all electronic devices produce radio frequency waves. If you really want to know use a reference guide of common devices and look at the frequency range before using this bug detector and you will have a better understanding of how this works. I hope this helps.

Save your money. This unit will buzz near most any electrical outlet. It never picked up recorders that we placed around to find.

I bought two of these camera/bug detectors the same day. Different brands. Same results - neithe ris worth the money paid. They don't detect a thing. When held up to a ceiling camera, they did nothing. No alert. A waste.

This device works great! First and foremost, unless the end-user is completely inept they can figure out how to and when to properly use the device. BUTTONOLOGY (SIDE)- The device detects wireless signals and the trigger mode (i.e. sensitivity) can be adjusted by a rotary potentiometer located on the top-side (i.e. looks like a volume level bar graph). Beneath that is the headphone jack for the ability to hear audible sounds without alerting eavesdroppers. The next item down the side is the status LED, which is used to indicate the device is on or when it's charging. Further down the side is the 5-volt power port, which accommodates the supplied AC/DC power converter or 3.5mm to USB for plugging into PC for charging. The final button on the side is the ON/OFF DIP switch. BUTTONOLOGY (BACK)- The first button on left is the MODE button, which switches between LED/CAMERA FINDER to AUDIBLE RF to VIBRATORY RF. The device does one mode at a time (obviously it costs less then $20, but still works nonetheless). There are amber colored LEDs that indicate what MODE the device is in. There are green colored LEDs used to indicate RF SIGNAL STRENGTH. If you are using RF MODE and the lights are going bonkers then adjust the ROTARY POTENTIAMETER (top-side); for example, in an area with a lot of WIFI turn the sensitivity down. A good test is to TURN THE DEVICE ON, SET SENSITIVITY ON LOWEST SETTING, SET DEVICE ABOUT ONE-FOOT AWAY FROM CELLPHONE, PLACE A CALL WITH CELL PHONE. The LEDs should max out to a solid blue LED, indicating maximum RF RX STRENGTH. The final button on the back-right controls the strobing effect of the LEDs for detecting covert pinhole cameras. When using CAMERA DETECT MODE, look through red circular view hole and look around with the LEDs on/flashing.Read more ›

Looks as impressive as it's photo. It beeps and I probably don't have any bugs. The instructions are poorly translated from Chinese. I think I missed something in the translation. It beeps/vibrates continuously so I assume that the pitch would change if there was a bug present. Also says it uses two AA batteries. It uses two AAA batteries. Ear buds have a very short wire.

Not sure if this item works or not. I really could not detect any "yes" or "no" signal changes during use. I might be using it incorrectly but..... oh well, not much to say on the subject. Would recommend for those who may understand better how these devices work.

To start off the manual if you call it that because i can't seem to figure out what its called since everything it says makes "Zero" sense, and most of the words are mistyped or misspelled so badly as well they are in the wrong order of what ever this dude is trying to say that it would seem that a 2 year old wrote the manual. Second problem is the price, which was not that bad, however being that it picks up RF signals from me ?!? as well as just about every wire i touch it to, which is of course what should happen since wires when charged up with power give off RF signals. Also beyond all that other stuff if you are really trying to find a bug, this should not be your choice at all trust me, you'd be taking apart your whole home or what ever you were doing like perhaps if you were at a hotel room and wanted to find out if there were hidden camras or microphones, all i have to say is "Good luck".

Only reason i gave this item 2 stars is because of the price and because it does has some reason of existance, just not finding a bug lol.
Also note, this will pick up RF signals well but figuring out which is which, well thats a different story, it also picks up eletrical wires in your home as well as just about ever powered up system, Coffee maker, tv, toaster ?.... ECT!!!
