From Library Journal
Attorney Lauber has updated his handy, affordable reference for professionals seeking employment. In his earlier edition (LJ 3/1/92), he led the job hunter to more than 3000 sources advertised in specialized periodicals, through search firms and job-matching services, on hotlines, and on the World Wide Web's job and resume databases. Over 97 percent of the material here is new or updated, with an increase of 1000 resources. Arrangement is alphabetical by occupation, and coverage includes such professions as education, high technology, legal services, and human resources. Similar to Professional Careers Sourcebook (Gale, 1994), this outstanding compendium offers a detailed list of state-by-state local sources; an introduction to the various types of tools and methods of utilizing them; a chapter explaining the Internet and its role in the job process, with lists of book titles and web sites provided for further exploration; and a section featuring general job-hunting tools, including internships. As always, a valuable addition to career collections.?Marilyn Rosenthal, Nassau Community Coll. Lib., Garden City, N.Y.
