4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting & Multi-Faceted
This book is interesting and worthwhile in two ways: first, because it does press Paul Wellstone's [fabulous] politics, and second, because it is a well written documentary of a fascinating campaign. Anyone interested in progressive politics or innovative campaigning is advised to read.

1.0 out of 5 stars a narrow view
This book contains little perspective on Wellstone himself, a figure whom it is easy to love or hate.

It's mainly useful for recording certain facts surrounding the 1990 election and for a largely positive spin -- in a superficial and biased view -- of Paul Wellstone.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent inside story of a truly amazing campaign, August 9, 1998

As Paul Wellstone pursues a long-shot presidential bid in the year 2000, it is important to see how he pulled another upset- back in 1990, when no one ever thought he could win. This book shows how a progressive populist campaign can take on the powers-that-be, and win!!

Again, the "politically correct" academic culture strikes! How could it overlook one of its own? It ignores Wellstone's total one-sidedness. The problem is that a University Press released what would have been fine as an unabashed campaign document sponsored by the subject's political party.
