5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, Charming Book!, April 29, 2006

This was one of my favorite books when I was a child. As I got older, it was passed on to my sibilings, and when I worked with children, they all loved it. This book has it all: humor, adventure, great storytelling, and memorable characters.

If you are looking for a whimsical, fun book that's good for the whole family, this is it.

(If you're one of us, too, that's in your twenties and still getting a smile when you read of the adventures of Professor Wormbog... don't worry, I won't tell anybody.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for young kids, November 16, 2005

One of my very favorite books from childhood. The creatures in this book are so fun and the artwork so detailed. I used to make my mom read it to me again and again to try and find new things in the pictures. A great companion book is "One Monster After Another" by the same author, because it has some of the same characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Book Ever!, November 12, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Professor Wormbog in Search for the Zipperump-a-Zoo (Hardcover)
This was my favorite book as a child. Luckily I saved it to share with my own kids. I've been looking for a "new" copy for years with no luck. I was thrilled to see that it was re-released. The illustrations are more vivid in the original, but the re-release is a great size and I'm happy to let my kids flip through it. The story is funny and engaging and might just help them learn the alphabet!

One of my favorite books from childhood. The pages are filled with
illustrations that allow you to find something new every time. My sister and I spent hours reading and rereading this book. I love it. Great Job to the publishers for reprinting it.

I forgot about this book, but it is a wonderful piece of literature. I remember reading it many times as a child. It's one of those books I need to purchase so I can read it to my kids someday.

My son received this book as a gift when he was about three and it soon became a favorite of both my kids. I was thrilled to be able to order a new copy when his daughter was born (I'd kept the original, which was a larger size, but it's pretty battered). I figured it would be years until she became interested, but she's 22 months old now and it's been her favorite book since she was about 8 months old. The drawings are exceptionally creative and rich with peripheral content that is endlessly fascinating to small people, and each page offers lots of things to talk about with the child. Though not yet two, my grandaughter knows every monster from A-Z, and just loves the idea of little creatures that hide in corners and dance around when no one's looking. I highly recommend this book--and am back buying two more copies for baby gifts.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Mercer Mayer Book, March 8, 2007
I purchased this paperback book for my grandkids after having bought the hard cover for my own children many, many moons ago. This is a wonderful, colorful, lively book for most ages. The older the child, the more of the illustrations you can read. It held my 5-year old twin grandaughters attention beautifully. Personally, I prefer the hard cover edition. The pictures are bigger.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mercer Mayer's best, August 31, 2006
This review is from: Professor Wormbog in Search for the Zipperump-a-Zoo (Hardcover)
When my daughters were young, we read this book several times a week. The illustrations are great -- imaginative and detailed. The story is cute enough for kids, and fun for adults to read as well. I am purchasing several copies for great nieces and nephews as well as for an expected grandchild.

This book is very visual and the story is fun. The ending is unexpected. Great book to read to a child or better yet have them read it to you.
