Profile Design Jammer GT Aerobars,
By
This review is from: Profile Design Jammer GT Aerobar (Sports)
Great buy for the money. Very adjustable, and will fit almost anyone no matter how picky they are. Allows the rider to get into a more areo-dynamic and comfortable riding position without having to leave their original riding position. Great for long rides. I've had these bars for about 500 miles now and so far no negatives, and only positive. My advice would be to go for it!

Great product for the money and decent long-ride comfort,

I bought these aerobars about a month ago and have put some good mileage on them. After some tweaking and adjusting, especially with the lateral angle of the bar ends, I've found them to be quite comfortable. They've allowed me to attain an efficient aero position without having to hunch over too much to be uncomfortable on my neck--much appreciated. I absolutely noticed a difference in my average speed with these bars in use the first time out. My only gripe would be that, even after adjusting the forearm pads to their fully-extended position, and the bars to their fully-extended position, it still feels a little "cramped" (as in the distance between the pads and the bar ends isn't long enough), and I don't have abnormally-long forearms or anything. This is minor, however, but figured I'd mention it as constructive criticism. I'd certainly recommend these, though, as they're a great price and decent weight.

Excellent, relatively inexpensive short aerobars.,
This review is from: Profile Design Jammer GT Aerobar (Misc.)
These short, highly adjustable aerobars are almost everything that I'd hoped they would be.
Be warned: they take time to configure on account of all the options. That is, don't expect to get them just right the first time. All adjustments are easy to make, and the whole assembly tightens down securely. They seem pretty well designed and made. They seem sturdy. By the third or fourth ride, they were just right (surprisingly comfortable) and I've been enjoying them the last few months. My only complaint is as follows: the last few inches around which one wraps one's fingers could be longer. I tend to keep them angled slightly more to the vertical than most, perhaps, and when I tuck tightly down I practically run out of bar (propping myself against about a half an inch). But, one of the reasons that I bought them is because of this preference. So, in that sense, I am a little disappointed.

Great Aerobar and Triathlong compatible!,

Great product, very comfortable and a great price. You can spend hundreds of dollars on an aerobar but this one is perfect for me. I needed it to be compatible with Triathlon competitions where drafting is allowed. The bar doesn't pass the line of the breaks and it's perfect. Highly recommended.

All the issues with this device were described by the other people. Fully agree with them. The designer of this thing played an evil's joke by placing the adjusting screw under the pad :-)...I wished him good luck at least 3 times when I had to make adjustment of the bars and pads. Another minus, the extender is not developed to work with thin (EU standard, I assume) bar, it requires a piece of PVC pipe or something else to install it properly on the main handle bar.
Other than that, and after all the trials I made it work for me. It took me 3 rides to find the best and optimal position. My average speed increased 3 - 4 kilometers per hour, I am not strugling with wind anymore... Some data, which I was looking...I am 184 cm tall (6 feet and 1.5 inches). My bike is a Hybrid made by Giant, size L. My ride with the aerobar was pleasant and convenient, no pain in my legs or back. Definitely, I recommend this item to the others. I gave 4 stars, due to this funny design which requires too many things to do to adjust position of the bars and the pads. Another reason for the 4, is: I wish it would be a little longer...

Room for improvement,

I'll start out with what I feel are the "cons" of this product since that is what makes up the majority of my review anyway. As mentioned by other reviewers, the bar clamps leave a lot to be desired and left me wondering what kind of bar these clamps WOULD work on. I had to adapt the clamps using some thin PVC tubing. I found the bars to be too short for a comfortable ride even with my short forearms and found myself constantly cranking my wrists around the bars to keep my forearms from cramping up. One positive is the weight. Looking back, I'm sure there are better bars out there that cost less, weigh more but are more comfortable.

I purchased the Jammer Aerobar for my wife after an arm injury. She was scheduled to do the Door County Triathalon in Egg Harbor, WI. She had problems with the arm during training with the conventional handlebars. Thought I would try adding these to her bike. They worked great and took stress off the wrist and arm. She finished the tri and loved the Aerobar. The arm is on the mend but she will never give up the addition of the Aerobar. Great product.

helpful aerobars,
This review is from: Profile Design Jammer GT Aerobar (Sports)
First pair of Aero Bars. Wonderful for a different riding position. Extremely adjustable. Everything on these can be adjusted so that fit perfectly. The only reason I didn't give it a fifth star was that I wished they were a little bit longer. I'm 6'-1" tall and would like another half inch on the bars. Very well made and they supply you with additional bolts so you can take full advantage of every possible position you can think of.

great intro to aero bars,

I've never used aerobars before and found these to be a great intro. They are easy to install and have a multitude of adjustment points. I bought them for my cross bike that I use for lightweight touring. So far I've only used them for about 100 miles, but find them to be an excellent product.
