Don't buy GE Profile range, possible fire hazard!,

Don't buy a GE Profile oven!
The electrical unit (where the time and temp are displayed) inside the back of mine caught fire, and the electric wiring was ON FIRE!! It would have burned my house down if my son hadn't put out the fire immediately. The fire department told me not to use this oven. I bought an extended warrantee, and the technician said they don't repair electrical cords that have gone on fire. When I looked on-line, I saw that another model of GE Profile (wall oven) had the SAME ISSUE! They recalled those ovens, and maybe after someone dies, they will recall this model as well. Five weeks after my fire, GE has done NOTHING! Nor has Assurant (the extended warrantee company), nor has Home Depot, where we purchased the oven. My husband and I have each spent HOURS on the phone with these people. So please save yourselves and buy another brand. |
