Wow..I never heard such a voice! This album ROCKS!! Believe me, it keeps you movin baby..and you won't stop movin until the end of the CD. Believe me, this album is just perfect..for EVERYONE!

i just got this today in the mail. despina's music here is a good hint of traditional greek music and a 90's pop sound that mixes well. don't expect something too up-beat or something to dance to at the clubs but do expect good music that despina never fails to give her listeners. songs like the title track PROFITIES and TO KORITSAKI SOU, and HORIS ESENA are beautiful!

some of my favorites though have to be PROFITIES, TO KORITSAKI SOU, APAPA, GIATRIKO, AKROS TOLMIRO (which sounds like something madonna would sing which is great!)

nonetheless, this album does not fail in its mixture of traditional greek music and good pop music. and if you're looking for something more up beat that still maintains the greek traditional sound then indeed check out her world-wide smash album "GIA" (one hell of an album) and also check out her latest album released in 04 entitled "STIN AVLI TOU PARADEISOU" (great music on that one too!)

overall, very good cd and is recommended!

Despina Vandi is back , but this time with a whole bunch of songs not so unique. Her voice still sounds like Anna Vissi and the fact that she uses similar songs puts her in the 2nd place. Of course she has talent but this cd was not what i expected from her. Too bad...

very soon in europe!!! she started singing from 1994 ,her
first album "gela mu" or "smile me" is already one of the
most favorite cd's in greece!!! Next cd's "esena perimeno"
"10 endoles" single "spania" ,"profitiec","ipoferw", "best of",
double albub "gia", single "ante ge1a", and now is produsing
an english single named "gia" which has great succes in all europe!!!! despina has started a brilliand international carrer
and now she stays for a while in madrid because she will be
mother for first time!!! despina we love u here in CYPRUS where i am in GREECE and very soon in all EUROPE!!!!! -GIA- -GIA-

Despina Vandi is no. 1 artist in Greece and I think she did a good job with this CD. It is very interesting to see how traditional and modern Greek music go together in her songs.

If you are a fan of Vandi, there is no doubt you have to buy it, even if the price is a bit too high from my point of view - normally it should not be more than 16-17 USD. But if you only want to make an idea about contemporary Greek music, try something else, for instance her newest "Geia!", which is much better. I am sure you will like her songs as she is not so 'commercial' like other singers are.

Despina second to Anna Vissi?? You must be kidding. Anna has a good voice, but I sometimes think she forgets her Greek roots and has sold out to commercialize her music for more $$$. Despina is a much better singer with a much stronger and in-depth voice and while she sings some in English, she is definitely true to her Greek roots.

PROFITIES includes diamonds like Sta Dosa Ola,Oute Ena Efxaristo,Koritsaki,Kleinomai,Giatriko & Spania .Those 'll be hits FOREVER.Vandi is certainly the best GREEK singer.
We Love Her and you 'll probably do the same thing.
BUY IT, you won't lose.

i think that is one of Despinas best albums.great tracks like 'Sta dosa ola' were huge hits that year and the cover is really nice.also listen to the title track and of course Giatriko!

Vandi is the best and hottest female greek singer, and this CD is great! In my opinion Vandi has surpassed Vissi. Vissi is now second best. I love this CD.

This album is one of the best albums ever!!! Has everything you would want in a CD!!! Highly Recommended
