This review is from: ProFlex 2000SF High-Performance Back Support Belt, Black, Large (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is an excellent support belt; it's designed and constructed quite well and is very sturdy. Unlike some support belts, the Ergodyne Proflex Performance 2000SF doesn't have a stretching section, and while it means you get firm support, it also means you need to be sure you're ordering the correct size. There is a range of adjustment, based on the length of the hook-and-loop fastening (like Velcro) section. The page lists the size name (Medium, Large, X-Large, etc.) but doesn't show the waist size range in inches. I ordered the Large, thinking that it meant a size range of perhaps 36"- 42". When it arrived, the bag label gave the size measurement range as 34"- 38" and I was just barely able to get the hook-and-loop belt end to engage well enough to hold. I wore it, but immediately ordered what I had to guess would be a more appropriate length for my 43" waist -- I ordered the XX-Large. I kept my fingers crossed, and when that one arrived, the bag label listed the size measurement range as 42"- 46". Some of the other support belts sold on Amazon do list the waist measurement range for each size, and I wish this one had that information as well, as it's a great product, and one I would recommend to anyone needing support while working or for short-term relief after over-working.

I bought this because I was working on a project and was constantly lifting 100lb sacks of cement. Seemed like my lower back was pulling out every other time. This thing not only helped me lifting the cement but after awhile I had built my back muscles up to the point I no longer had to use it. This thing is great, very comfortable and it allows you to do heavier and more frequent lifting than you could normally do.

Saves the back,
This review is from: Proflex 2000SF High-Performance Back Support, Medium (Tools & Home Improvement)
Been experiencing a bit of discomfort while working on a ladder restoring a cica 1900 house. The support given to the lower back from the belt has helped aleviate the lower back pain, now for the neck???? Definately worth the $$$.

Most people at certain point of their lives will develop back problem, from the mild to serious injuries. This belt is sturdy enough to support your lower back. After injury I wore this belt with sock filled with sand, placed somewhere above the tail bone for stability and it helped a lot. I'm ordering this belt second time b/c Velcro wore off after frequent use. Those who have back problem b/c of lifting at work or being obese is no way around the problem except to loose the weight, proper mechanics when you lift and the most important strengthening gradually the core muscles. The things I have learned about the lower back problems are frustrating b/c it is very difficult to make proper diagnosis and Doctors most of the time are guessing and they are not helpful for you as patient. That's why the best medicine for lower back problems is exercising core muscle everyday. I disagree with one of the reviewers that you need to order one or two notches higher size for good fit. I have 41" waist. Originally, I have ordered X-Large, XX-Large not knowing what to expect. I send it back XX-Large and ordered Large size which fits me perfectly. Sometimes, I'd put double belt X-Large over Large size for firmer hold, that's why I didn't send X-Large back.

This review is from: Proflex 2000SF High-Performance Back Support, Small (Tools & Home Improvement)
I work overnight in a supermarket, and do a ton of heavy lifting. If you have ever done that sort of work then you know what I'm talking about. I was using the one supplied by the store and they are alright as far as a back brace goes but they tend to fall apart after awhile not to mention they never had my size. So I shopped around and ended up trying 3 different braces. The first was so uncomfortable and didn't help at all with supporting my back, and the second one literally fell apart in a week. I saw this one and thought I would give it a shot. The brace is very well made, very durable. I can see this lasting for some time. I would have liked if the straps were not detachable, but they haven't fallen off yet so it's not really an issue. The only thing I did not like about this belt is it's "sticky fingers". Along each support "bar" (don't know what else to call it) there is the words "sticky fingers" that stick out. When I wore the belt it would rub along my back making it very uncomfortable. So I took a straight razor blade to the letters and shaved them off. Since then the belt has given me no discomfort at all. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs the support and wants something that will last.

I could tell from the first few minutes I put this on that it was something special - especially considering the low price. The sticky fingers work great and I find myself sometimes wearing it when I'm not even working - it just feels that great. I really found this by accident, but figured I'd give it a try and see how it did versus the cheap one I've been using, which really considering the price on this I think it was only $10 more.I'd agree with the other reviewer about something for the neck - maybe they need to have a shot at that. Overall though, great product and has uses for more than just home improvement times. The only way this could be better is if it was a full back item - like a complete shirt.

This review is from: Proflex 2000SF High-Performance Back Support, XL (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought this belt to use daily for residential construction work. Its comfortable allowing you to bend at the waist, sit down, or get down on your knees when working on the floor. I even wear it when I drive. Its very adjustable in how snug you make it because of the secondary side flaps, so you can always loosen it quickly if you need to. Seems to be quite sturdy in its manufacture and I suspect it will hold up well, but I have only owned for a couple weeks so I can't speak for certain to its longevity. [This is a much better quality belt than what is sold for $15 bucks at the big box home stores.] It provides as much support as you can get without wearing a weightlifting type (leather belt) instead, and those types of belts are far too uncomfortable to be worn all day because they really dig into your sides and hips. The XL was true to fit - I have a 38" waist and it looks like the belt has enough adjustability left to fit down to a 37" waist. Be sure to measure around your waist at, or maybe 1" below your bellybutton. DO NOT order these types of belts based on your underwear waistband size or the belt will be too small!!!! NOTE ON GETTING ADDED SUPPORT: A little trick I use is to wear a leather weightlifting type belt over this one for super support when I have something especially heavy to lift, like an appliance or unloading a truck full of 90lb cement bags or 3/4" plywood by hand. With the Proflex belt under it, you can wear a weightlifting belt much more comfortably, and the weightlifting belt prevents any give whatsoever which gives you that mega support to protect your back. But the majority of the time, for routine work like carrying tools, and supplies up to say 60lbs, I just wear this Proflex belt by itself.

This review is from: Proflex 2000SF High-Performance Back Support, 2XL (Tools & Home Improvement)
I'm a male currently with a size 42 waist (sad to say...hope to reduce soon) and based on some of the other reviews decided to order a size 2XL. This 2XL size is almost too large for me and so I suggest if you're a size 40 - 43 to order a XL. Size 43 and maybe as large as a size 45/46 waste order a 2XL.
