5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Black Metal bands of all time!!!, April 27, 2006
I am a very big black metal fan and its hard to find some good black metal music that isnt turning into a mainstream band. Anyway Dark Funeral isnt one of those bands. Dark Funeral is still to this day one of the best black metal bands around. This cd proves it. There past recording have been not top quality sounding and made it hard to hear whats really going on. But with this recording they play there best songs from Diabolis Interium all the way to The Secrets Of The Black Arts albums. Its an amazing show and I wish I was there to see it. It would have been great if they were to film this show for a DVD because I would have loved to have seen it. If you are fans of Mayhem, Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Darkthrone, Bathory and Immortal you will love these guys! You should also pick up there latest album Attera Totus Sanctus its just another great album from this great Black Metal band!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars , September 4, 2005
This is the first official live album from Dark Funeral recorded live during their South American tour in 2003, including stops in Brazil, Chile and Colombia. Considering that this band's studio albums are way too repetitive, with the exception of the brilliant Vobiscum Satanas, hearing a best-of compilation live makes for an easier listening experience. The album succeeds for several reasons. The mixing of the recording is crystal clear making each instrument clearly audible. When the music is this intense production values count. The song selection, while not perfect, is adequate. Crowd participation is constant yet not unnecessarily loud or over the top. The usual fast songs are played at twice the speed. Dark Funeral proves that they're extremely tight in a live situation, product of their constant touring. And finally, the title track off Vobiscum Satanas is still evil as hell! 15 songs, 1 hour, get this and Hail Satan!

5.0 out of 5 stars Head Bang!, January 28, 2008
This is probably the best album I own when it comes to rocking out, screaming at the top of your lungs and head banging. Whenever I put on this album I want to rock out as hard as possible and soon find my throat a bloody mess. Anyone looking for meaningful lyrics or truly innovative technical work should look elsewhere as Dark Funeral follows a pretty standard, yet enjoyable, rubric for all their songs: a wall of chaotic grinding, furious blast beats, memorable, misanthropic, hateful chanting ("OPEN THE GATES TO SATAN!") and numerous breakdowns designed to wreck your neck. The enthusiasm of the live crowd only makes this album ever the more glorious, as the South Americans are world renowned for their passion for metal, a stereotype which surely rings true in De Profundis Clamavi Ad Te Domine.

I find this live recording to be much more fun to listen to than the studio albums as the live performance gives it a sense of raw energy and ferocity. The tempo of the songs seems to be accelerated and the vocals are harsher, more sincere and passionate. On top of this the set list is basically a "best of" compilation across Dark Funeral's career - making this a great album to grab for purposes of introduction to the band. If you like this band check out Hate Forest.
