This book was designed to provide nine comprehensive subject reviews of all material tested on the PLACE Assessments in Basic Skills, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Professional Knowledge. Each subject review is followed by drill questions with detailed answers to test a student's comprehension of the review material. All of the test sections were prepared by experts in their particular subject fields to assure accuracy and the appropriate level of difficulty of each drill question. By studying the reviews and the drill questions which follow, students can discover their strengths and weaknesses and become well- prepared for the actual PLACE exam.

I am so glad I had this review. As you can see they don't give you much to go on to study for the PLACE. If you read each of the History sections and skim the humanities section, and brush on your algebra or study whatever you struggle with - this book covers all the basics and if I hadn't studied from this book (as well as a few other sources based on the PLACE study guide) I would have done 1/2 as well.

I bought the two as a pair and together the books have been helpful. But if you are looking to take a place for just your Licensure then you will need to look for other study sources. The books are geared more for the general place test.

Don't waste your money. Toilet paper is a lot cheaper than this book (which is about all it can be used for).
