Excellent Book For Beginner,
By Philip S. Wu (Houston, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Programmable Controllers: Theory and Implementation (Paperback)
I am using this book in my PLC class. I found that it gives me very very clear explanation on many general PLC topics. It really helps me to build up the solid foundation for PLC programming. It will help you a lot if you want to be a PLC programmer in the future. Trust me! This is the best PLC book I found, at least for beginner like me.

Numerous mistakes throughout text,

When using this text, I found many mistakes in the text, especially the figures. If you are interested in Chapter 14, beware. There are several errors in the explanation of second-order responses.

Not too helpful,

I spent the last two weeks looking at this book trying to figure out just what it's going to teach me. Unfortunately, the material covered in this book isn't for someone who already knows something about PLCs. I bought this book thinking that it would be handy as a reference guide, for the little things I forget sometimes. But this book is so basic. It's defintely a beginners book

Too generic!,

This review is from: Programmable Controllers: Theory and Implementation (Paperback)
I bought this book looking for information on how to best use our controllers here at the plant, and this book just didn't help me out much at all. I wouldn't trust all of those good reviews if you're looking for specific information.

I bought this book to help my employees understand how to use my plc's. unfortunately, this book is too generic, and we couldn't apply much of the book to our applications. concepts are vague and not very helpful.

I bought this book for my company about 6 months ago. After everyone in the plant started asking to borrow it, we bought copies for all the PLC maintenance guys so that they wouldn't fight over the book anymore! This book is that great!

I just received the book a few days ago. I was quite surprised. This is the biggest book I've seen. Covers a lot of detail. No prior knowledge required.

Most complete book on PLCs,
By A Customer
This review is from: Programmable Controllers: Theory and Implementation (Paperback)
I found this book to be an outstanding learning and reference tool. It is loaded with examples and charts and graphs that show you how to fully understand and apply a programmable controller. Since the book has over 1000 pages, I also recommend getting the workbook that goes along with this book. The workbook makes sure you understand what you are reading in the text.

This book is very compehensive in coverage of PLCs yet at the same time generic. A very good beginning text that also takes you into programming, process control and loop tuning. I recommend this book for an excellent overall knowledge of plcs. One of the best books I have read on the topic!

The Best PLC reference Book,
By pablo_reguero@hp.com (Puerto Rico) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Programmable Controllers: Theory and Implementation (Paperback)
Outstands from all other PLC books. Explains, illustrates, and guides the reader through real life (not just theory) PLC situations that you may encounter in the industry. Its a great addition to the PLC manufacturers manual.
