I just bought this book yesterday. I'm finished reading it now. Just about the only time I was able to force myself to put it down was when I was typing in the examples and modifying the code and creating new programs.

I can see how this book would potentially be confusing for someone who is COMPLETELY new to programming and the concept of programming, but if you have any programming experience at all, I encourage you to try this book if you want to become familiar with the basics of C++ very quickly.

It's an excellent book, is fairly fast-paced... skips the "dry" material and gets you actually USING C++ very quickly.

I picked up my copy from Borders locally for $15 + tax... for that amazing price, you can't go wrong with this book. I would have easily paid double.

I just got this book today. The book has colorfiul illustrations, easy to follow. Shows you how to use a complier, shows you steps in understanding code language. Explains the basic's very detailed to comprehend. The book isn't a thick arsed book, where your like my gosh..I have to read this all to get it?? Chapters aren't long, at all...gets to the darn point of things. Did I say this book is colorful, not in the worst way..enough to aplease your interest into learning about C++ programing...it beats the boring black in white books on C++. It says it best on the cover: "EASY TO FOLLOW" "PLAIN ENGLISH" "FULLY ILLUSTRATED"....HEY, I don't disagree!!!!
A must have for anyone who needs help, in learning C++ or for anyone who needs to revisit the subject...and besides it's inexpensive to buy.
....Enjoy.
