I have a Master's degree in Computer Science with 3 years of programming experience in C++. This book is by far the most useless and horribly written programming book I've ever read. There are 600 pages in this book that tell you absolutely nothing other than how to map very basic C++ operations to C#.

It mentions classes in some chapters that aren't defined until later chapters. When it does mention specific classes, it rarely lists all of their methods in a convenient and easy to read format. Instead, you have to look at the example code and hope there is some type of matching method that may be useful.

It is also missing very important and useful classes such as the DateTime class.

If you strictly want a book that maps basic C++ operations to C#, then this may be for you. Otherwise it is useless as a reference and not very well structured.

If you are a Visual Basic programmer, and you are interested in C#, this is the book for you. All of the examples are presented from the perspective of a Visual Basic programmer, and they are extremely helpful. Additionally, the author was able to provide an unbiased assessment of C#, which I appreciated. C# has flaws, and it is helpful to know them. I also like the format of this book. I am able to find the information for which I am looking with ease. You can also download all of the code that is used within the book - a huge time saver. There are a number of good books on C#, but if you are a Visual Basic programmer, making the switch, this should be on your bookshelf.

Have been through a myriad of .NET books and could not find a good discussion of delegates and how to use them. This book has a chapter and ready to run code that puts events and event handling to use. Delegates finally make sense.

Wish the book had a CD ... the software is online ... could be easier to get to

I think I own every C# book ... Until now, I could not find one that explained the how and why of reflection. The book has examples that work and that make sense.

I own Wrights Visual C++ book. I hope he writes one for ASP.

Book is filled with example working programs -- Wright introduces a concept and then builds on it -- I was able to cut and paste a bunch of working code into my own examples.

Doesn't bog down in the basics -- assumes you know how to drive the Visual Studio -- presents tools unique to C#.

The deployment info was good. Would like to see more on ASP.NET

I find the more I know the internal of C#, the more I like this book---------if you're a beginer, then come to this book later.

If you are new to C#, this book is easy to follow and easy to use. If you have been learning C# for a while, the book's format lets you turn right the solution you need.

There are hundreds of sample programs -- with they were on a CD -- but you can download them on the Web.

If you have programmed in Visual Basic, Wright make's the transition to C# very straight forward.

Very valuable resource. I like the tip format. Easy to find the info I need.
