I received this dish rack exactly as shown in the picture. It is a bit smaller than either side of my double sink, with 4"-5" of none usable area of empty space on the side of the dish rack. It works, but is smaller than I expected.

The actual dish rack, as shown and received, is 12 1/4" X 16" at the top, with the arms closed, and measures 10 3/4" X 11 1/4" across the bottom. I have not had to expand the arms simply because my sink is 16 1/2" deep by 15 1/4" wide, as positioned in the picture.

The inside measurements of the actual white "snap-on" drain board on the bottom of the dark blue expanding sides measures 9 1/2" X 10 3/4".

I liked the unit when I first got it. Handy item when you are in a small apartment. However, they could have made this better. The side where the silverware goes is poorly designed. I had not had this for more than a day when the plastic supports for the silverware broke. If you get this, just be careful with that area.
