These shakers hold a large amount of salt and pepper. The plastic covers are great for keeping dust and moisture off of them. The fact that you can take the wide lids off makes them easy to fill and easy to use when measuring for recipes. I really like them!

I looked all over before I purchased these shakers, I wanted larger ones that had a nice handles to hold on to that the pepper didn't get stopped up and stuck inside,and cleaned up nicely. I've had these shakers for many years now and love them I keep them on the kitchen counter by my stove.I love to cook and use them constantly. I have a family of 7. I am now going to purchase 2 more sets one for the second home and one to the motorhome. The plastic lid covers they have are great and keep them clean inside and moisture out, also if they tip over they don't spill everywhere.

I read the bad opinions from some of the users regarding the lids and that is why I decided to write this review. If you use common sense you will be able to remove the tops without a problem, their not that hard to take off. The tops are snug but hold on tightly to the shaker (over the sink) and turn the top to the right, then wiggle it up to remove. They are easy to fill with the large tops and hold a lot of salt and pepper so they don't need to be filled often. Once filled line up the top push it back down and turn it to the left. That's all there is to it.

I found it hard to get the stainless tops off to fill them, but I like the plastic covers.

Dishwasher safe, large holes that do not clog, large open handle, and nice size. I have enjoyed using this salt and pepper set.

Stainless - matches my canisters and other appliances.
Handles - so much easier to work with.
Big - no need to constantly refill.
Pours well - no clogging/sticking.
Lid removal no problem - twist and lift.
Wide enough for easy refill.

The stove top salt and pepper shakers are exactly what I wanted. I am using them to cook with. They are big enough to hold a lot and so convenient. I was tired of having to open the cabinet and look for the big salt and pepper boxes. They look so nice in my kitchen. The plastic covers are a bonus. I haven't used the plastic covers yet, but have them put away in a cabinet in case I need them for storage reasons. Smart move by the makers of these. I am 100% pleased and highly recommend these salt and pepper shakers to others.

Got this set a couple of months ago. I love the look and the size and recently found the matching sugar shaker at a local Marshalls. The plastic lid is a nice touch to protect from dust. There is one thing that keeps it from getting 5 stars (other than fingerprints) and that is the lid can be tighter. Sometimes when shaking, salt will fall out from the edge of the cap. The cap fits on by 2 little bulges and u simply place the lid on, then turn to tighten... but salt is very small and can still escape... so it can be a tad annoying if you're sprinkling some salt and it also comes flying out from the edge...

There practical and big and they never get lost in the kitchen. The salt and pepper come out just the way I like it. Holds alot of salt and pepper
and in our family thats a good thing. Easy to fill and easy to clean.

I have had these salt shakers for over a year. They are terrible. It is a fight everytime you want to fill them. I am buying new ones.

We love the plastic lids--it keeps the dust and dampness out. They are heavy, but not too heavy. Just feel secure. The amount of salt and pepper it shakes is perfect. We love them!
