5.0 out of 5 stars It works! It looks good! Buy it!
What can I say? For a pasta cooker / veggie steamer, you don't need tri ply super pots. You need something that works well, saves time, and can be thrown in the dishwasher when done. This set does it all. I pride myself in trying to outfit my kitchen with nothing but high quality utensils. Sometimes that means top brands and top prices, sometimes there are bargains that...

2.0 out of 5 stars Started to rust after first use
I purchased this at a good price thinking I can use it to boil pasta, steam veggies and it works for all those things. My only complaint is that rust spots started to appear after its first use and wash. Since I purchased it at a good price I'm not complaining too much, just be sure to wipe it down after washing and use a good scrubber to scrub out the rust stains while...

1.0 out of 5 stars How can Stainless Steel Rust?, October 30, 2005
This review is from: Progressive International 8-Quart Spaghetti Steamer Cooker (Kitchen)
I have used the pot one time and it has already started to rust where the bottom of the pasta strainer comes in contact with the pot itself. If it is stainless steel, how is it rusting?

I will be sending it back!

The size is great, the design works well, but after only a few uses, the "stainless steel" is rusting. I'll be returning it.

This set does it all. I pride myself in trying to outfit my kitchen with nothing but high quality utensils. Sometimes that means top brands and top prices, sometimes there are bargains that excell. In this case, I can see no reason to pay for exotic materials when they have no effect on the final outcome of your kitchen efforts. In this case, the multi cooker does everything it is supposed to do in fine style. You even get the bonus of a light duty stockpot to help out in a pinch. Get this set, and put your savings toward a good tri metal skillet.

3.0 out of 5 stars Will do in a pinch, just not for efficient steaming, August 7, 2005
This review is from: Progressive International 8-Quart Spaghetti Steamer Cooker (Kitchen)
The versality of a pot like this is undeniable. However, it is mandatory that it have a tight-fitting cover in order to create a proper steaming environment. The lid for this pot slides around, and I find that disappointing.

The pot is a good size for pasta and other foodstuffs which need a medium-large amount of boiling water.

It also is not very heavy to carry from the sink to range.

All in all, a handy cooker but not a good steamer.

Poor construction. After one dishwasher cleaning, developed rust spots. Ended up being an expensive proposition since I had to go out and buy another one.
