I found this steamer in a store once and have never seen it since. I wrote to the company and they told me that they suppy Amazon, so I looked it up and there it was! The steamer is great - I ordered two - and so much better than similiar kinds with the little ring that always seems to disappear into the vegetables when you're trying to get them out. Plus, the leaves don't seem to fall out. I use my Progressive Easy Reach steamer several times a week and highly recommend it to anyone who likes to steam vegetables in a pan.

I've tried numerous steamers. This one far surpasses them all. The feet are a bit longer and so the vegetables really steam. The stem in the center extends when you need it to so you don't get burned lifting the steamed food out of the pot, then retracts so that it fits easily into the dishwasher. This steamer fits in a double boiler or larger pot. I love it! No corners were cut in it's construction.

The best I've tried. The legs on it are much longer than usual, so you can put a fair amount of liquid in and not worry about it either drowning your veggies or boiling away before you get back. The telescoping handle is also a great feature.
A basic, simple cooking utensil made smarter.

Easy to use and clean, adjusts nicely to fit many pots, telescopic handle is nice but the top is made of a plastic like material that is why I am not using it inside the pot where the temperature is high. When I am done with steaming my veggies I screw this handle in and lift the steamer basket with it. This way the top plastic part of the handle is not in any kind of contact with food.

The only thing is that you dont really know what the water level is unless you take it out from the pot. Other than that I am very happy with the product, it serves the purpose and is relatively inexpensive compared to other options available on the market for steaming. (excellent packaging and fast shipment)

I used this once and was pleased, but next time I went to ue it one of the legs came off! made it uselss, couldn't fix it and I had to toss it and buy another brand.

The plastic handle works great to get the steamer out of the pot.

The steamer seems like it could be a little better quality though. The legs started coming unscrewed after a few uses and they have also bent a little.

We have not used it that many times and already it is corroding on the bottom nut of the steamer around the main easy reach stem. That nut is NOT stainless steel. If you buy this I would recommend replacing nut with a stainless steel nut before you use it so it don't get corroded on.

I like the steamer, and the long handle definitely makes it more user friendly. Only negative is, the blue knob at the top bleeds off the blue color--make sure to address the problem BEFORE using it. Since it's made in China, I don't want that dye in my food!

I was excited to receive this veggie steamer, but when I got it, it was broken (one of the legs was broken off). So I returned it. When I received the replacement, that one was broken as well (the topper was stripped and wouldn't screw into the base which was also stripped)! So frustrating! I did not ask for a second replacement as I didn't want to waste anymore time on this item; I just figured out a way to rig it to work "good enough." Overall I am very disappointed in this product.

We needed a new steamer basket. Ours is over 10 years old and the center stem was lost long ago. Cook's Illustrated recommended this one. Nice tall legs, long center stem. However, it is really really cheaply made. One of the legs fell off the first time I washed it. This is before we even used it. The "leaves" or whatever you want to call the part the collapses on the side, looked like they would separate in no time. I returned it. Too bad we can't just go buy another cheap one at the Asian market like the old one. I think I only paid $3 or $4 for it.
