Get perfect, even slices with the easy-to-use Adjust-A-Slice Mandoline from Progressive International. The wider slicing surface accommodates larger fruits and vegetables such as onions, tomatoes, kiwi and apples, and it also includes julienne blades for cutting zucchini for stir-fry or carrots for garnish. And the angled blade provides more efficient slicing.

You get three thickness options--thin, medium, and thick. Simply set the blade to the desired thickness with the slicing knob, then either hold the slicer at an angle to your cutting board or rest it over a bowl. Non-skid base and ridges keep the mandoline slicer stable on either a flat surface or a bowl's rim. Secure your food with the included finger guard to slide it over the blade to get perfectly sized slices. Slide button down to lock for safe cleaning and storage. Dishwasher safe, but hand wash for best results.

I never knew I needed on of these and now I can't live without it. Slicing onions used to be a chore, well not a chore, not even a hassel, I just pulled the onion out from the fridge and sliced it. It took a couple minutes, now it takes seconds. Carrots, what a breeze. But, for me, where this gem of a kitchen tool really shines is tomatos. Want super thin slices for a salad, maybe a bit thicker for a burger? No problem. I can't believe I haven't had one of these in my life earlier. I can't recommend this highly enough.

On occassion, I pull duty in my friend's sandwhich shop & convenience store and slicing onions and peppers and the like can be a real pain in such a small space. I brought in the Adjust a Slice and Julienne Mandolin and made such short work of the onions and other veggies with this device. No tears from the onions, they were done so fast! I even tried it to slice the ham for our homemade pickle wraps and it worked beautifully.

The grip is comfortable when slicing large amounts of thigns so you don't get too tired, again, the chore goes very quickly with the mandolin. The device also cleans up easily., however, the only thing I didn't like about it is the construction. I think I would have preferred to see more metal in the construction rather than plastic.

The tool is quite sharp but kind of slim and may need to improve on the grip. It could get somewhat tricky to handle for larger vegetables and small items.

It can julienne and you can also adjust the thickness, but you may want to just purchase a food processor for large amount of food or use a good quality knife.
