Do you NEED this gadget? Well, no. But it is really useful to have on hand. I like to bake pies but sometimes they turn out juicier than I'd like. The pie gate holds back any fruit from falling into the pie plate & keeps the cut edges nice and neat. I find I use this even if my pie turns out perfect. And it's dishwasher safe on the top rack.

Its ok, does its just for the most part. Sometimes it wont' stand up straight.

I used this in a chicken pot pie and immediately, the bottom misformed because the pie was, of course, hot. The company was great about immediately refunding my money. i still use the gate, but only occasionally, and usually only in cool pies. It's a really neat idea, though! :)

I've used the pie gate several times and like the way it preserves the cut pie. Since there are only two of us here, it's nice to return for more pie and have it still intact and easy to serve.

I looked for one of these locally and had no luck. I was amazed at how well it works. No more oozing filling. Worked perfectly!

THis is an incredible little gadget - it is reviewed as a winner from Cook's Illustrated. If make pies or have left overs that may "spill" out - this gadget it great.
