Product Description

Amazon.com

The worst part of making tuna sandwiches is not the sweet vs. dill pickle debate, but rather trying to drain the liquid from the can. With this handy little tuna press, you'll stop smooshing the sharp-edged lid down on the tuna and tilting the can to drain. Remove the lid, place the tuna press over the can, and push down. The liquid will rise to the surface and you can dispose of it easily. A part of the Can Colander series from Progressive, the press also comes in handy for draining syrup from cans of fruit. --Dana Van Nest

If you eat a lot of tuna like I do, you need one of these. Still using the lid to strain the water out of your tuna can? Ever pressed so hard half your tuna spilled out? Ever sprayed yourself with smelly tuna water? This great little strainer allows you to get the tuna as dry as you want without the mess. I wish I had invented it.

Simple little item makes straining tuna much easier! My first inclination was to dump the tuna into the strainer. Wrong! LOL Leave the tuna in the can and press the strainer into the can. Too bad it didn't come with instructions! Duh.

This is awesome. No more smelly water splashed on everything. Also you can drain all the water out so the tuna is dry. You can also use it to break up your tuna. Draining juice out of cansis great also because I bake quite a bit and this is so handy and it's also great for when you want to fill canning jars. There are many uses for this little item. Smart person who thougth of this.

I've had one of these for over 3 years now and use it predominantly for canned tuna straining. It works like a champ and is dishwasher-safe. My daughter just recently moved out on her own and requested this as a Christmas present since she can't have mine! Simple design, simple to use.

This strainer works like a charm to press liquid from canned tuna. It is especially effective if you have a can opener that lifts the lid instead of cutting it, because with these the lifted lid doesn't fit inside the can, making draining harder. The strainer can be turned over to drain smaller cans, but I haven't tried it yet.

i bought this colander to strain tuna from the cans as pressing down with the lid over a sink isnt enough. this product works well on a standard tuna can. does not get stuck on can or anythign, slides in and out. even though the colander is a bit concave, it doesnt affect draining abilities. this is perfect if you like to remove all the water from ur canned goods, especially tuna.

The tuna press is a nifty gadget that's easy to use, and easy to clean. No more cutting your fingers on razor-sharp can edges, or pushing a dirty lid down into your tuna. I bought this tuna press from Amazon two years ago, and it's still one of my favorite kitchen items. Other things you can do with this tuna press:

* Drain spinach, corn and beans
* Push boiled potatoes through for mashing
* Sift powdered sugar over desserts

I also have the stainless steel can colander, which is even better for straining hot, boiled potatoes with the skin still on. If you cook with chayotes, this is also an ideal way to seperate its skin after boiling. Great kitchen investment for only the cost of a Double Whopper.
