5.0 out of 5 stars The King of graters!

I whole-heartedly endorse the statement made by previous reviewers: this is, hands-down, the best grater I have ever used. The tripod shape prevents wobbling, and the rubber knob on top provides a firm, ergonomic grip that fits right into the hollow of the palm. I can burn through a block of cheese or a stack of carrots with this baby! Hash browns or potato latkes are...

3.0 out of 5 stars Could be better
Althought this grater has more style than most kitchen gadgets, it does not perform as well. It will grate anything you like, but it will take longer and your hands will hurt more. I find the classic, handle on top, four sided graters much easier and faster to use. Bottom line: for light grating, if you need some cheese grated once in a while it will function...

Hash browns or potato latkes are a breeze.

Unlike one of the other reviewers, I have not had any problem with the feet coming off. Overall, it seems to be excellently constructed, and all the rubber pieces remain firmly attached. Also, after two years of use, it remains sharp, effective, and shiny, without a speck of rust.

I highly recommend this grater!

Fabulous kitchen tool! Rubber base protectors and ball top hold the grater in place for stability. Won't slip in your hand and does a great job on ginger, carrots, cheese, whatever. A great value.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worthless, July 16, 2004

1) The shape makes it unstable on your counter so it moves around a lot.
2) small surface area, so it takes a lot longer to grate something
3) impossible to clean on the inside up at the top, making it a safety hazard
4) But, hey, it sure looks cool, huh?

Forget it; get one of those cheap, four-sided graters from the supermarket.

Bottom line: for light grating, if you need some cheese grated once in a while it will function beautifuly, but for heavy duty every day use I do not recommend this item.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful product, July 25, 2002

I love this grater! It does course, fine, and extra fine (or zesting). It doesn't slip thanks to the rubber feet, and the rubber ball on top makes it easy to hold. It is well-constructed, and it cleans up easily in our diswasher. It does all I need a grater to do , and I have no doubt that it will last. A great product that I highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Grater, January 24, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Progressive International 9 Inch Tower Grater (Kitchen)
We have had this grater for a few years now and it still looks new and works as well as it did when new even after many, many runs through the dishwasher. The rubber feet at the bottom keep it firmly planted and the ball-shaped top make it easy to grip comfortably. Perfect for cheese, carrots, etc. All three grating surfaces are great (no pun intended!) I would definitely recommend this to others and would purchase again if I had the need.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, but feet fall off, October 13, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Progressive International 9 Inch Tower Grater (Kitchen)
I have had this for a while now, and it's probobly the best grater I've used; however, all three feet fell off. It still performed beyond any other grater (and it's still the only box-type grater I've seen with a side that does the "fancy" smaller shredding size). I wouldn't hesitate to buy another, even if it was doomed to be footless.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great Looking but Hard to Clean, October 18, 2002
This review is from: Progressive International 9 Inch Tower Grater (Kitchen)
I thought this grater looked great out on the counter and it does shred ok. The problem is cleaning it. Cheese and the like tend to get stuck up at the top which makes it very difficult to clean. Also, the little plastic feet started to come off so it wasn't worth it to even keep it anymore and we just pitched it.
