Very sturdy with a smart design,

This review is from: Progressive International 4 in 1 Flavor Injector (Kitchen)
My husband and I bought this flavor injector to replace the one that came with out Ronco rotisserie. It was a better price than a new one from the Ronco site, and it definately better made. The whole plunger unit is thicker and the finger holes are rubberized and easy to grip. On our old one we would commonly get the needle stuck and it would pull out of the unit - this one seems better designed and able to bear up under that pressure. I like that it injects both solids (garlic) and liquids, though my husband thought it was still difficult to press the garlic through (but not impossible). Best part is that you can store all the pieces inside the body so that you don't lose anything in your gadget drawer.

Turn Unit Upside Down To Fill,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Progressive International 4 in 1 Flavor Injector (Kitchen)
When using liquids it's necessary to place the plunger into the plastic tube that holds the liquids....before adding any liquids. This is done by placing plunger at least 1/3 of the way into the plastic tube. This creates a leak proof seal. Turn the unit upside down and unscrew the injector needle. Place liquids inside and screw the needle back into place. Turn right side up. It's ready to use. If you try filling this unit right side up, your marinade will completely leak out of the opening tip on the injector needle....before you can place the plunger into the plastic tube that holds the marinade. My previous flavor injector didn't operate like this one. I lost good marinade trying to figure out how to work this. I admit I'm mechanically challenged, sometimes embarrassingly so. It took me a couple of tries to figure this out. Okay, it was 4 attempts and a cup of marinade. I was biting my lower lip in total frustration, until I finally figured it out. If my review saves any purchaser some frustration and marinade, I'm okay with admitting how stupid I can be. I like this unit. It's much sturdier than my old one. It works well with thicker liquids and the unit only clogs, if ingredients are larger than the opening tip of the needle. I haven't tried injecting solids, but the tip for that is about 5mm. The opening of that tip is very flexible. I will use this feature. I may try injecting stuffing or pesto directly into some chicken breast. For now, I like my marinades. Injecting marinade into chicken and turkey really keeps the meat from drying out when smoking. My BBQ turns out tender and moist. UPDATE: Please read comment section. A reviewer has a suggestion to fill this injector in a different way. I haven't tried it yet, but I will.

Excellent product,

Product arrived promptly and used it for injecting Ribeye steaks with Italian dressing and chilling in refrigerator for two days. After grilling the family just loved them. Best steaks in quite some time.
