5.0 out of 5 stars A practical tool for a clean microwave
The plastic is easily bendable, so it's not as easy to wash by hand as I'd expected. That's not a big deal though. The main purpose of this product is to keep food from splattering the microwave, and it does a good job of that. After several months without cleaning, my microwave is still very clean. 3.0 out of 5 stars Good idea but average quality
It is nice to have a microwave cover that will fit over food that is taller than the standard cover (e.g., a chicken), but this cover is thinner and more flimsy than the standard covers I have used.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mother of a cover.., December 30, 2008

My Corelle dinner plates are 10.25" in dia. and this cover fits perfectly just over the outside edge of them. The height will be a distinct advantage for taller containers that I nuke with on an intermittent basis. The material is somewhat flexible and not rigid like some covers that can fracture when dropped (I've done it). This cover could also be used to enhance the ripening of fruit in a bowl. It appears they could last well into indefinitely.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for soup, January 14, 2009

My problem with flat microwave covers is that they're too short for a soup bowl. This is the perfect solution, and it cleans up easily.

I'm pleased to discover this dome has a little handle on top so it can be handled with one hand although it's a bit too tall to remove by the handle from the oven (not room for my hand above the dome). Its large size covers a dinner plate and even my 8.5" wide vegetable serving bowl so I can steam vegetables and serve them in the same bowl. It's very effective.

In the past, I didn't cover things I was reheating, and yes, they splattered a lot, but I never found it hard to wipe out my old oven. Now that I have a convection microwave, I have to be more careful, since the grilling or convection process can burn remaining tidbits onto the metal--a cleaning headache. I've gotten around that by keeping the oven clean inside and this dome makes that a lot easier.

I didn't realize how much better the reheated food is when covered, but it makes a big difference. Ya'll stop laughing now--I did try the paper towel route, but never found it very satisfactory and I always burned myself removing plastic wrap when I used that. This dome has steam release vents that keep it from getting too hot, while still keeping the food moist. I'm very pleased with it and recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for microsplatter, November 16, 2008

Stop wasting paper plates to cover your exploding beans, potatoes, eggs, ect. Get 2 or three of these.

Pros: Tall dome shape, also has steam vents for micro's with automatic sensors.

Cons: none so far

4.0 out of 5 stars Great design but can melt if in too long, March 17, 2009

I love the design - as other reviewers have noted, its height and shape accommodate both plates and bowls so you don't have to keep switching out microwave covers (which I used to do). The cover seems well made and looks elegant.

My only issue is that when I was cooking a sweet potato for 8-9 minutes using this cover on top of a bowl, the cover melted into the bowl. Not sure if there were safety issues with it, but I just ordered a new cover since I can't find anything like this in terms of size and shape.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great microwave food cover, April 10, 2009

I bought this cover to use with pasta bowls that didn't work well with the flat-topped one I have had for years. It works so much better than the flat-topped one, I have used it exclusively since I got it! As other reviewers have noted, it is easy to clean and fits over full-sized dinner plates (and smaller, but higher pasta bowls). Another reviewer mentioned the handle, which has worked flawlessly for me (my oven has a height of 7.5 inches from the turntable to the chamber top,and I'm able to remove the cover, using the handle, even over the pasta bowls). Great item, highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Product, February 24, 2009
This review is from: Progressive International Microwavable Dome Food Cover (Kitchen)
I have been using this product now for three weeks or so, and no complaints. Easy and flexible material (so I don't have to worry about breaking/cracking). The high dome design is helpful for tall cups, and like. So far so good!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Microwave dish cover, February 5, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Progressive International Microwavable Dome Food Cover (Kitchen)
Microwave Dome Food Cover (Clear) (4.75"H x 10.75"Diameter) Well so far it is great for taller food containers that need heating in a MW. Only suggestion to the mfg is the short handle on top is not grip friendly but it is lightweight and can be removed from the mw over fairly easily if your dish is not too tall. That may be the only problem. On one dish I use I had to pull the dish slightly forward to the door and then remove the cover as I could not simply lift it up and out. My MW over is a 1.5cuft panasonic and is big compared to a 1.0 or 1.2 cuft MW. My MW is 9 1/4 inches from the glass turntable to top of the MW oven, this item is 4 1/4 inches tall, so as stated your dish that food is in can not be too tall, say 4 inches or4 1/2. This item has worked well so far.

1.0 out of 5 stars microwave cooking dome, March 26, 2010

I see NO means of easily picking up the dome after cooking is complete. Some sort of handle should have been included so it can be lifted with one hand. I would not want this cover if it were free.
