5.0 out of 5 stars Microwave Bacon Cooking Rack
Rack works just great. Must remember to lower power to 80% on high power, 1000W or higher Microwaves.

2.0 out of 5 stars TOO Large
I had an old bacon tray that broke. Bought this one thinking that since the old one was kinda small, I should get the large. But it is too large, and the turn table in the microwave gets bumped off it's track with this large tray that is too large to turn in the microwave.

I reccomend you buy a Medium size if there is one. Or check your microwave turntable...

5.0 out of 5 stars Microwaved bacon? YES!, September 6, 2008

The Microwavable Large Bacon Cooker is an extremely welcome kitchen addition for a family who rates bacon above Filet Mignon in the "favorite food" department. Bacon cooks crispy in a short amount of time and the pan cleans with ease. A paper towel over the bacon keeps the microwave neat and spatter-free. It is dishwasher safe but not necessary to waste electricity for an item that is so easy to wipe clean with a little soap & h2o and no elbow grease. Think I'll take a 3-minute break from this review and make some bacon!

1.0 out of 5 stars Bacon & Elbow Grease, February 28, 2009

We thought this product would solve the fried vs. nuked bacon debate in our house. Although my son prefers the taste after being cooked on this tray vs. microwaving on a paper-lined Pyrex dish, it cooks unevenly & I must constantly monitor the bacon to be sure slices on either end don't burn. Additionally it's necessary to cover the bacon with FOUR small sheets of paper towel. Otherwise grease spatter will ruin your microwave.
Then there's the care of the tray itself. I have worn the skin off my hands trying to clean it. Even on a pots & pans setting, high-temp dishwashing does NOT work. Intense scrubbing with a dish brush does NOT work. Only did the last resort, steel wool, removed the latest round of gunge. I've used the tray 6 times & despite all the above, it's already becoming discolored. If you remember to use copious amounts of cooking spray before loading bacon, it's marginally easier to clean, but otherwise, forget it. Too much work. I'm looking for a better product & as soon as I find one, this thing goes into the trash.

5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT bacon cooker for microwaves, March 31, 2009

I've tried other microwave bacon cookers, and this is the best I've found.
It does the job more quickly than others, with fewer "mistakes."
It is also very easy to clean up, afterward, and with a paper-towel covering, does not grease up the microwave during use. The ease of use and cleaning are important considerations for older and/or disabled persons, who often refrain from using "messy" appliances because of the extra work involved in after-use cleaning.
This is the best of its kind I've found.

1.0 out of 5 stars cooked the tray too, January 2, 2009

I had purchased two of these bacon trays on Amazon from a third party vendor, and both of them are now burnt. I had a very difficult time getting the bacon to cook evenly. In addition to that the same spot on both trays burned after only use. One of them actually started to burn straight through the tray.

This is big enough for 4 slices of thick bacon (barely) and fits in our medium size microwave well. It is fairly easy to clean.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love this bacon cooker., August 19, 2011

This is the best bacon cooker. When done cooking the bacon all I do is rinse it off and put it in the dishwasher and it comes out clean. Takes only 3 or 4 minutes to cook crisp bacon. Love it.

3.0 out of 5 stars No more frying pan! But, a crack developed., December 29, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Progressive International Microwavable Large Bacon Cooker (Kitchen)
The last paragraph is my initial review. After @ 50 trips through the microwave, my bacon cooker developed a crack. Fortunately and coincidentally, I was cooking up the meatiest rasher of bacon ever, so the grease leakage onto the microwave tray was minimal. I am looking at the alternatives and may try another model, or get another of these. Other models look like they may have higher capacity and/or be easier to clean up. This still beats a frying pan, but annual replacement is a little diaappointing.

This is a cheap, easy alternative to frying bacon. The raised ridges keep the bacon out of its own fat. Lay in the bacon strips carefully, without overlapping them, cover with 2-4 layers of paper towels, cook ahead of time -- somehow, the bacon tastes better after "resting" awhile. Figure out your own settings. I ran 6 thick slices for 6 minutes the first time. That was probably too long, because the tray was a little hard to clean. The bacon was fine. I'll try 5 minutes next time, and perhaps less time for fewer slices or thin-sliced bacon. Cleanup is a cinch compared to using a frying pan.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just too large, April 2, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I have a new, and, I thought, large microwave, but this tray is simply too big to allow the turntable to function, hence allowing burnt and raw spots in the bacon. I used it twice, then threw it away.
