4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent little product
I really enjoy this little broiler pan. For the single person living alone it's the perfect size and it's dishwasher safe.
Very nice looking, while being incredibly useful.

1.0 out of 5 stars Thin Metal, Rough to Clean
The metal is very thin. The broiler feels very lightweight in a carnival-prize kind of way. It is very difficult to clean and keep shiny.

2.0 out of 5 stars Thin and sharp, June 11, 2009
By
James S "JT" (Sunnyvale, CA USA) - See all my reviews
The thickness of the stainless steel is not listed. I can see why. The broiler pan is very thin and has sharp edges that need to be softened. Should you accidentally drop a chicken I should think a major dent should ensure. The bottom pan has the same flimsily feel and it too has sharp edges as well. I was looking forward to this pan, but the feel puts me off.
I'll use it until I find a better-made piece.

1.0 out of 5 stars Smaller than it appears, January 22, 2010

This review is from: Progressive International Petite Stainless Steel Broiler Pan (Kitchen)
I ordered this pan to replace the old aluminum one we had in our toaster oven. I liked the idea of stainless steel. When it arrived, I was surprised by the small size. What you can't tell from the photo is that the inside of the pan tapers in. Actual baking area is reduced to about 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. The quality looked okay, and the pan would be good for very small meals/baking, but it wasn't what I was hoping for. The outside dimensions were correct of 9 x 12.

5.0 out of 5 stars Broiler Pan Extraordinaire, May 29, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
When a replacement was necessary for us to enjoy broiled steaks again, I searched for a new broiler pan equal in size and better in quality than the one in the trash. It took a few minutes online to find what I thought would meet my specifications. To say this broiler pan is good, is an understatement. It is EXCELLENT. We have used it several times since the delivery right to our door by Amazon. The food turned out perfectly and the clean-up was easier than anyone could ask. Not only that but the price was under what I thought it would be AND with Amazon's delivery program, they paid the freight. It doesn't get any better than this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good product...works as stated., December 22, 2008

It is a bit flimsy but overall does what is is supposed to. It is stainless but I swear it is the thinnest grade of stainless I have ever seen. I had to save a bundle on shipping as it is very light.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cleaning the Broiler, August 26, 2010

If you have trouble cleaning the last little bits of broiled on animal fats from this stainless, and you will, just buy a can of modern EZ Off oven cleaner from Food Lion or whoever your grocery store is. Put the pan in the sink then spray it with the EZ Off and let it sit for 20 minutes or so. then use one of the sponges with the rough surface on the other side and it will be absolutely shiny and spotless when rinsed. As always with any kind of harsh cleaning product I'd do it in a stainless rather than synthetic surface sink and keep away from the fumes.....don't breath 90% of the household cleaners is good advice.

I couldn't believe how shiny this became after I did this. Most stuff comes right off but after a week or two I think I'll use the EZ Off as a super cleaner.

I have a counter top oven (Breville Smart Oven, which I LOVE!) and this little broiler pan works nicely in it for just the two of us. Easy to clean. Steel is medium gauge - not super heavy, but not flimsy either. I found it to be just what I was looking for at a resonable price.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not sharp at all..., July 31, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I read the reviews of this pan and the first thing I did was check the edges... They ARE NOT SHARP as other reviews have stated. I have not cooked with it yet so I will see how they work upon first use. I also bought the petite pan and the edges were just fine on that pan too. It does state on the packaging that it recommends hand washing. I don't want these pan to rust as others I have had in the past. I'm guessing it's because I put them in the dishwasher? Nice and light-weight pans too.

This is a good size for my convection oven - broiler. The pans clean up nicely. Just soak a bit in hot water and vinegar or spray with Dawn degreaser foam. It's a lot easier than cleaning up the stove top after frying meat or chicken. Also, I feel safer using stainless instead of aluminum. I recommend this broiler pan for 2-4 servings.
