We loved this, and we had been looking for the right colander to fit all of our needs...size (large)...small enough holes...etc. This is a great concept, but in under a month, after 4-5 uses, the material had cracked at the expandable seams, and it is almost unusable now (noodles can fall out of the cracks now...though veggies can still be washed in it).

I originally purchased this item back in 2003. It got extensive use as I used it for pasta, draining meat, and washing fruit, so it got several uses per week.

We recently moved across country in 100 degree weather, so I think the seams just got too hot in the moving truck for over a week and stuck together so when we popped it open, there was a small tear along the seam line that slowly got bigger everytime we used it.

This drainer is awesome. The adjustable arms allow me to use it any size sink. I have used it in a standard size double stainless steel sink, a standard size ceramic double and a very small "vegetable" sink with no problems. When I first received it I did use my knee to pop it open, but it quickly loosened up. The second one seemed to be easier to pop open right out of the box.

There is not a plastic smell and it is obviously made from a very high food quality plastic. Cleaning is very easy, storage is a breeze and if ever needed, I will buy a third one.

I received this as a wedding gift and loved how it collapsed to save on storage space. This was especially important since our tiny kitchen was lacking in cabinet space. I have two major gripes about this product though. First of all, water gets stuck inside the expandable arms and it is next to impossible to dry it out. It got to the point that mildew started to grow. Gross! Secondly, I have had this product for just over a year and the seams are all starting to rip! I hand wash only and haven't put anything unusually heavy in the colander. It is getting worse each time I use it so that I will probably have to be purchasing a new one in the next month or so. It is rather dissapointing because I loved this item when I first received it and I think with a few design tweaks it could work, but as is, I would not purchase this again.

This over-the-sink colander works very well. It's easy to adjust, drains well, is dishwasher safe and stores easily. The only suggestion I have for future models would be to make the extensible arms a little tighter. I haven't done it yet, but I'm just waiting to accidentally bump it and spill the contents into the sink. Otherwise recommended.

I love the fact this thing collapses. I was a little worried hot water would melt it, but it's still there and it seems to be okay. It's a great storage solution for people with small kitchens and it's easy to fit on MOST sinks.

My only issue is the fact it's hard to clean.

I needed a colander that had small enough holes to allow me to drain Asini de Pepe pasta (they are about the size of tapioca pearls once cooked). This one fit the bill (I checked one at the store for hole size, then bought it here as it was cheaper).

The collapsible feature and the expanding arms are both extremely handy. I have a small kitchen, so being able to flatten this out and stand it up against my pans, vertically, is great.

It's easy to clean (either by hand or by dishwasher, though it's so easy I usually just hand-wash it), seems solidly built (I wonder how long it will expand and collapse; guess we'll find out!), handles hot foods without a problem (and the handles don't conduct that heat to your hands!) and is just an all-around great little tool.

i love this colander. i have had one for about two years and it is so convenient that when i got a second home, i had to get another one. it streches to hang on any sized sink, so what is being strained does not sit in the dirty sink water, and it folds nicely to fit in my cabinet along side the pots and pans. it is sturdy and easy to use.

I love everything about this Colander, except the fact that it has started to rip at the seams just as shown in the video someone sent. I have had mine since June of 2009 so I got almost two years of use out of it, but I don't do a lot of cooking either so it might have broken sooner if I actually used it a lot. You will enjoy this when you use it but don't get too attached as it will not be with you for long.
