The one end is great for strawberry stems and the other side is great for getting out green pepper seeds.

I work in a kitchen and when the handle of my metal corer broke off I needed a new one in a hurry. This was the only one the store I went to had in stock at the time. I too, was skeptical that it would snap off after a couple of days of heavy use, but I've had it 6 months and core between 100 and 200 tomatoes a week, plus everyone it my kitchen ask to borrow it. Also the scoop end is better for seeding cucumbers than any tool I've every used.

UPDATE 01/27/2012. After 1 1/2 years of use of professional kitchen use, my corer finally gave up the ghost. I guessing I and my teammates have cored thousands of tomatoes (some soft, some hard as rocks) with this little beast. That's lifetimes worth in a home kitchen. I'm ordering 2 more, 1 for me and one for my crew.

Alright for cleaning out seeds of peppers, but the small end that looks like a tomato corer feels as if it will snap off if when you use it as such. It's worth the 3 stars because of price, but I would recommend spending a little more and getting something of all metal construction.

I have had one of these for years and bought this as a gift. It is by far my favorite kitchen gadget. I never thought it would be so useful but it rarely makes it into the drawer before I'm getting it back out. It makes deseeding a breeze and is also perfect for removing eyes from potatoes

My wife and I were watching a YouTube cooking video when the presenter used this tool to remove tomato stems. Wow! We were instantly sold. As a vegan, I eat a lot of tomatoes, so this is one chore that is not so much a chore anymore. The tool could probably be a little bigger, but it gets the job done. Bonus points for the other end to easily remove seeds. I highly recommend this handy tool.

This is the second I have purchased as we grow habaneros and ghost peppers to dry for pepper seasoning for barbeque. We sometimes de-seed them to make them less hot and this works well. It is a little big but we made it work for what we needed.

This was purchased for a neighbor. It was not what she wanted. She remembered a claw like hand held appliance that twisted the top off the peppers and removed the seeds.
