I received these for Christmas and loved the look. However, when I went to use them to grab a pan from the oven (nothing crazy hot - 350 degrees) the mitts got *HOT* within about 2 seconds (no exaggeration here). I asked several other people in the household to test them out, just to make sure I wasn't being hyper-sensitive, and they each reported the same thing. Those tougher folks out there with already-callused hands may find these useable (they do look nice afterall) but I'm trying to figure out what to do with these to salvage the gift.

These mitts have magnets to keep them close, and this is a nice feature. They can be washed in the dishwasher, another nice feature, but.....You better have a place to put the hot item out of the oven really close! Just removing a dish from the oven and placing it on top of the stove gets hot enough that it gets hard to hold. I removed a pizza and barely got it to the cutting board and pie tin put back onto the top of my stove. The gloves do not protect very well from the heat.

I purchased these mitts because I was pleased with my Silicone hot pad and wanted to try out silicone mitts. My first impression of these mitts was that they are much easier to use than regular oven mitts -- you feel like you have much more control with your hands. These particular mitts have little grip "bumps" all over both sides of each mitt which make handling hot pots and pans even easier. We even use the mitt as a grip to open jars! Works perfectly! Dishwasher safe? Another plus! However, if you're carrying around a pot for a long time (not just holding it steady, actually carrying weight with full mitt-to-hot surface contact for more than one minute) you can start to feel the heat. I would say for most general cases of taking things in and out of the oven and placing them somewhere, they are perfect. Definitely worth a try if you're looking to switch to silicone!

It's a good thing this ships with 2 mitts. I end having to go back forth between the two because they get hot way too fast. As long as you're using them to go quickly from the oven to a counter top nearby, they're almost OK. Otherwise, it would be better to use something else.

This is the worst product we ever purchased at Amazon.
The main reason for these oven mitts are use to carry our stoneware baker from 350F oven.
You can feel the heat transferring from the baker to your hands right the way, and within 5 seconds we can't no longer withstand the heat.
Once again, this is one of THE worst product we ever purchased at Amazon.

These Silicone Oven Mitts work exactly as they should. They were the perfect gift for a grandma who's been begging for them for months. ;)
My only issue with them is that using a cloth mitt or pad is just easier. You have more flexibility etc. Yet the benefits of the silicone probably outweigh that simple complaint.

Ill stick with the old fashoned type.
These are OK for a quick grab but transfer heat otherwise

great deal because u get two. they're different to get used to since they're not cloth but they're waterproof for spills!

I like these mitts - they are the first silicone ones I have had and they work great, plus I like the color.

My pair is several years old and I love them.

Recently, my grand-nephew married and I wanted to get a pair
for his new bride. I finally found a manufacturer's name on
my pair, looked it up on a search engine and ordered a pair.
They are even better than mine as the cuffs go a couple inches
further up the wrist. Even more perfect, if that is possible.
