I saw one of these dropper's on a recent Alton Brown episode and I ordered it immediately. It is ingenious! Perfect portion control and the dropper fits tightly into the neck of the bottle to prevent critters or dust from entering. I have now retired all other oil dispensers - even expensive ones - because this one has a place of honor on my counter. I will also be buying these as gifts for friends.

UPDATE: These cruets have a tendency to develop cracks for no apparent reason. My cruet had never even been washed, and it suddenly started leaving rings on the counter where it rested between uses. I had a second cruet, and the top of it popped off. They are very poorly crafted. Fortunately, I still have the droppers, which I still use even though their cruets have long since gone in the trash.

I keep one of these filled with Olive Oil next to my stove. I always get perfect portions of olive oil and no mess! I love it!

I first saw this in a Woman's World Magazine and I carried the article around asking in all the stores if they had it and no one did. Finally I wised up and searched Amazon and there it was. It is the best item for portioning out oils and vinegars. I dropped and broke mine and I could hardly wait for my new one to come. Makes it so easy to use the right amount of oil in cooking. Do yourself a favor and buy one.

After seeing this on "good eats" I just had to have one. Its so nice not to have to measure out oil and have the spoons to clean up. Rather than put whatever amount in a pan its nice to be able to quickly measure..since I can be pretty heavy handed pouring freely. I have 2 one for Olive and one for Canola but I can see having a few more, one for maple syrup would be nice and I can think of other uses. The first 2 I bought started leaking around the bottom within a few weeks but the manuf. quickly made good for them telling me they had a bad shipment. No matter, I've had the new ones for months and they work great!

I loved being able to measure out the oil when cooking. Never had a problem with drips - as long as you release the pressure on the bulb when transferring. I started noticing rings of oil on my granite under this and thought I was being messy. After paying close attention to using this, I found the ring was due to the bottom/base cracking along the seam where it joins the bottle. Thus my fears about it being plastic were realized. Wish it were available in glass!

We loved this oil dispenser until it started leaking. The seal at the bottom must have failed because there is no visible crack anywhere on the container. Small amounts of oil just started leaking out onto our counter top every day. I'm actually going to buy another one and hope that it was just a fluke. It is too convenient to simply dismiss the design.

I had another oil dispenser which was more expensive from Crate and Barrel and it kept breaking, so I bought this as a replacement. It was cheaper and is so simple and easy to use. The measurements are easy to read, it's very easy to refill the container, and there's no mess involved with cleaning measuring spoons.

This is the neatest tool - clean dispensing of a measured amount of liquid, easy to use and it comes with its own cleaning brush! LOVE IT! I just wish it was glass and not plastic...

This was on my Christmas list last year. I was sick of using all of my measuring spoons on olive oil. This solves the problem. It leaves no mess. LOVE, LOVE it!

I really like this set. It makes measuring oil for various recipes much easier. I love being able to dress pasta with one hand and stir with the other.

It does drip a bit, so the dropper shouldn't be held outside of the base or a dish for too long.
