I didn't record more than a handfull of DVD's in the 7 months I had this unit when the sound (output) failed. I noticed that I had to keep increasing the volume on the TV and finally it just quit. Of course the warranty was out. An e-mail to Protron was not answered. The unit is also larger than many DVD-Recorder's. Initially impressed, I was quickly disappointed that it didn't last very long.
