4.0 out of 5 stars A decent scale
This scale is compact and efficient and will do a good job. The facts that it has both the standard and metric measuring systems and that it has an adjustable 0 (meaning no math) are great! However, because the scale is circular it is a little difficult to quickly read it. This is the only reason why I did not give this scale 5 stars. I also really like the removable...

1.0 out of 5 stars STOP!! DON'T BUY!!
I was sincerely disappointed. This scale will give you different weights depending on I don't know what. Sort of magic but no good. Furthermore, it sometimes won't let you weigh more than 2 lbs. Go and figure why they sell this stuff...

I also really like the removable bowl-- it makes measuring less messy. I would buy this scale again if I had the choice.

1.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for, November 20, 2002

This scale is completely inaccurate. I compared it with an older spring-type scale, and it was always off by more than a few ounces. The dial with the weights on it spins way too easily, making it almost impossible to NOT move it after you set the thing to zero.

2.0 out of 5 stars Defeats the purpose of a scale, July 3, 2004

While I don't have this exact model (I have a Braun with identical features and design), this type of scale is not practical. Potential for poor technical accuracy aside, even if this model weighed perfectly, the round viewing sruface (dial spins around perimeter of scale), prevents you from obtaining an accurate read, since it is difficult to determine the precise viewing position... I'm buying a new scale right now...

I bought this little scale because of an impending litter of pups and I wanted to weigh them. It worked perfectly. The bowl is washable and will work equally as well for food. The scale can be zeroed so anything else can be used to hold the weighed item. It is compact, clean and reasonably priced. I'll use it a lot for cooking and other things than weighing puppies!

I'm not sure if the people who said it was inacurate are fussing over a gram or two difference, because mine always registers accuratly. We have a very expensive german digital scale and it reads the same as this one. I prefer to use this one because of its compactness, ease of use (we don't have the problem of it turning too easily), and the fact that i can quickly glance and see both grams and oz/lbs in one view. (our other one has to be reset for each)

I use this for measuring portion sizes for dieting. Would recommend, but not at it's current price. (I really doubt we paid $54.00 for it, but maybe, we've had it well over 4 yrs)
