I think it's great that his editor went through his original sketches and compiled them for his fans. It's great to see where the ideas started, but most importantly it's another great book of Royo's art.

this is luis royos best book to date his work belongs in hollowed halls to me he is the true fantasy artist the way his art is done. is amazing if you like boris and julie beells work you,ll love royos................

If you're a Luis Royo fan, and I am, and you're into the Prohibited series, the purchase of the Prohibited Sketchbook includes a folded cardboard display art box/sleeve to contain all four books in the series, with additional artwork on the front and back of the box/sleeve. The sketchbook itself provides a ton of preparation sketches and unused material from Royo's preparation of the artwork for the initial three books. Sort of brings you full circle and provides some insight into his art preparation. If you already have the first three Prohibited books, I strongly suggest you purchase the Prohibited Sketchbook to complete the set. I didn't even know about the box/sleeve until I purchased this item.

Purchased this with the expectation of new, more bold and audacious materials that were not in other books. Sorely disappointed with the conventional and flimsy sketches presented here. Although there were a few erotic ones with hot females in the process of undressing or engaging in coitus, there are not enough of them to justify the price of this volume.
