This review is from: Project Cancelled: Disaster of Britain's Abandoned Aircraft Projects (Hardcover)
A fascinating history of Britain's postwar aircraft projects and the advanced technologies they explored. This book gives detail to the many innovative and exceptional prototypes designed and developed by the aircraft giants of Britain and then describes the consequences of cancellations because of budget reductions. The end result was the loss of Britain's leading part in aircraft design, then the bankruptcy of its pioneering aircraft companies, and then the loss of all of those young technologists who would have been carried on their country's pioneering traditions in aeronautical design. A well-written book with lessons for all of us.
