Poor game control / OK Graphics,

I had a hard time playing Project Earth. The game control is no way near as good as Homeworld or Homeworld Cataclysm. One has to use the mouse & arrow keys & ctrl key to get anything done. In the end the controls are not intutive and take the fun out the game. He graphics are OK. If you have not played Homeworld or Homeworld Cataclysm I would recommend that you buy them instead. They have easy game control, good graphics & music and a great story line.

I can't comment on game play or graphics, music, anything. So is it fair to give it a one star review, who knows. I bought this game when it first came out and never got it to work, tried loading patches but the support was next to useless and consequently I forgot about it. Found it again a couple of weeks ago and installed it on my current PC. Still couldn't get it to work. Perhaps it was a faulty disc. I would love to play it. I have played all the incarnations of Homeworld, Hegemonia legions of iron, Conquest Frontier Wars, Nexus the Jupiter incident, so I like this type of game. If I knew how to get a version that worked I wouild do it in an instant. Oh well. The best I can do for prospective buyers is recommend the few Youtube videos that are out there that feature the game. Hopefully it will work for you.

The game uses an advanced 3D engine, with real-time particles and space physics. The spectacular 3D graphics are accompanied with music that changes depending on the situation. Sound effects simulate 3D sounds even on a standard pair of average quality speakers, adding to the experience.* Beautifully rendered 3D real time environment. Engaging real time strategy * Back to basics: fun, easy to understand gameplay * Unique gameplay, which allows play in 3 different battle planes simultaneously * Play both humans and aliens in this epic battle for survival * Play with up to 8 players in multiplayer mode.

18% Of a Fun game,
By Jason Assalita (Gettysburg, PA) - See all my reviews

I Purchased this game with Very high expectations. My system was way above the prefered system (1.3 ghz AMD, 512mb Ram, Geforce4 TI 4200). After installing and running the game, i elected to try the Tutorial first; The tutorial is shoddy at best. Time controlled "pop-ups" tell you about the features, but dont actually check to see if the user tried them before it moves on. The time before the pop-up dissapears is very quickly, bearly allowing me to comprehend the statement. The camera controls are very difficult to get accustomed to. While the sounds were very good, the Graphics were a let down -- even on the best settings. The game ran jerky on my G4 once the action stepped up. And above all, it was very easy to get lost in the game -- A player can get disoriented very quickly in the battle, and ones mouse hand can get very tired from all the 360 mouse swinging needed to change views. A very big let downthis game was. Try out Homeworld if you want a superior game, with a component of fun.

Awsoeme game, People dont realize it.,

This game is awsoeme, it has the same basics of battle as starcraft or age of empires only in a 3D environment and a very hard computer. I think they might have programed it with slight AI. All you people who said the controls were hard just said that cause you cant comprehend them. If you cant figure the controls out for one game as simple as this then you shouldnt play stradegy games. I like this game because of how many different stradegys you can use, my favorite option was the self destruct and damage nearby ship button, i reak havoc on enemys with that. If your smart enough to comprehend the controls and harsh environment then play this game and see how good you really are. I think this game could be used to train space pilots or even military training. Try this game, you might like it. Oh and for the guy who said the popups went to fast in the tutorial, you push the objective view button to pop it back up for however long you want, see easy.

Great to look at, if your not in a hurry,
By Steven L Crawford (Benton, KS United States) - See all my reviews

This game lives up to its pre-release billing. All of the previews I have read make a big deal over the graphics engine and the effects. The game is very impressive to look at, once it finally loads. Now I don't have the fastest system (PIII 700, 384 MB Ram, Radeon 8500 video), but takes at least six to seven minutes to load a mission. I feel the developer could have spent more time on the user interface. I find the "camera" controls cumbersome, far less intuitive than say, Homeworld, or other RTS's. Wonderful to behold, not so wonderful to play.
