Book Description

0070393605 978-0070393608 January 25, 2000 2
The purpose of this book is to present the principles and techniques of project management, beginning with the conceptual phase by the owner, through coordination of design and construction, to project completion.

Throughout this book the importance of management skills is emphasized to enable the user to develop his or her own style of project management. The focus is to apply project management at the beginning of a project, when it is first approved. Too often the formal organization to manage a project is not developed until the beginning of the construction phase. This book presents the information that must be assembled and managed during the development and engineering design phase to bring a project to successful completion by the owner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, June 26, 2007
This review is from: Project Management for Engineers and Construction (Hardcover)
I have purchased this book as my profesor advised me to. I liked reading this book and for my career, I know that I am going to reference it a lot. It is easy to read for a student and in my opinion it gives great professional tips.

1.0 out of 5 stars Book contains little useful information, January 17, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book just doesn't contain anything useful inside it, which certainly isn't reflected in the price.

Its not that the book is poorly written, its just that its subject is silly. Everything contained within is either too general to really be useful at any point in the future. When it goes into specifics, it is refering to specific situations that are largely unique to a few individual oganizations. If one does ever use any of the information contained in this book, most of it will be completely obvious to you, that which isn't can easily be learned in a few hours from any organization that actually uses it.

Don't bother with this unless you are forced to buy it.
