Solid But Lacking (3 Stars),
By
This review is from: Project Mayhem (Audio CD)
L.E.G.A.C.Y. is next up to bat for the Justus League and for this reviewer, the results are mixed. Legs definitely has some rhyme skill, but the album doesn't have the diversity it takes to hold ones attention. 9th Wonder and Khrysis handle all of the boardwork for Project Mayhem. The production is good, but not the jaw-dropping stuff you've come to expect from 9th Wonder and the underrated Khrysis. I'd say it ranges from pretty good to average. On tracks like "I'm A Star" feat. Chaundon, Median, and Joe Scudda, the beats are tight, but the lyrics don't do them any justice. And someone needs to tell Joe Scudda to put the mic down and slowly back away from it. Dude has zero rhyme skills. But there are some strong cuts to be found. L.E.G.A.C.Y. shares some vivid lyrics about his life struggles on "Pain In Life" and "Broken Heart Disease". Also, Leggy Hendrix and Phonte team up on "Pure" and they both turn in impressive performances. As shown on "Imperfect World" feat. Kiesha Shontelle and Percy Miracles (Phonte's singing alter ego), L.E.G.A.C.Y. is at his best when giving social commentary or telling stories. This is the L.E.G.A.C.Y. that I pay to hear. Project Mayhem is a solid release, but too many of the songs sound the same whether it's the beat or Leggy's subject matter. There are some great moments, but the album doesn't shift gears enough and as a result, as the previous reviewer said, it's kind of boring. Project Mayhem lacks the energy to create any kind of buzz. Standout Tracks: Pain In Life, Pure feat. Phonte (My Favorite), Mayhem, Fast Girls, Too Long, Insomnia, Imperfect World feat. Keisha Shontelle

The beats are Grimey and then at times generic but they are nice very different then the usuall 9th Wonder affair but not necessarlilly better then some of his projects. Legacy also does a great job at spitting the problems with this album is it is boring and lacks great form and structuring on the tracks and does not play out that good wich is it's major downfallLyrics 8 Production 8.5 Replay 6 Entertainment 7

Justus League Maddness!,
By
This review is from: Project Mayhem (Audio CD)
THE Justus League is hitting us with some classic hiphop albums and legacy runs in that same line of classic assault. FROM the banging beats that will get ya head nodding to the smooth ill beats that will put u in a Trance the album is a straight through play from the First Track. Legacy unique style blends well with 9th wonder and Khrysis beats, but then again who doesnt blend will with 9th wonder and Khrysis beats. STARIGHT HEAT! peace.

Real Hip-Hop,

This is what REAL HIP-HOP is supposed to sound like. The Justus League is doing their thing as far as finding real talent. The production on this album is excellent, lyrics are sharp. Definite pick up for real hip-hop listeners. Standout tracks include, Lou's Tavern, Nice, Cold As A Butcher, Insonmia, the list goes on..... I miss this kind of music, and hopefully this will be a renaissance of sorts. But unfornuately, this album will probably fly right under the radar which is a crying shame. 4 stars......

This Pure Hip Hop Album has Intelligent Flows and Head Nod Beats Thoughout The Entire CD and Lacks Nothing. Its Easily One of the Best Buysof 2005, A CD that if u Compared it To any other Rap Cd u brought in 2005 u would be like those other Cd are Lacking the Quailty and Beats that Lace the entire Project Mayhem Album. U wont Find Any Skippable Tracks on this One. 9th And Khrysis Show why their really Schooling alot of Producers on how to Make HOT Dope Hiphop Beats. Then on top of that u have L.E.G.A.C.Y. with some of the most Intelligent Vocab ive heard in a while. Every Song Has a Different Vibe to it with Jaw Dropping Beats. If u like PETE ROCK n CL Smooth or Gangstarr Albums then ull love this One. This is Real Hiphop Personified.
