This book is a must read for any NYC resident or any one who was impacted by 9/11 attacks. It takes us back to that day that changed all of our lives as we are witness to the personal stories of others who survived.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful By Parker J. Palmer on October 18, 2011
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
I am new to the work of Robin Stern, but I am well-acquainted with the word of Courtney Martin--whose book, "Do It Anyway," offers compelling reasons to be hopeful about the promise of the rising generation to contribute to the restoration of American democracy. I am grateful to Stern and Martin for the fact that "Project Rebirth" provides another source of hope, this time arising from the lives of people who suffered personally and powerfully from the horrors of 9/11. Hope can be gratuitous, wishful and cheap--or it can be hard-won and tested by fire. This book offers hope of the latter sort, the only kind that is trustworthy, the kind this country and the world needs. I recommend this book to anyone who is seeking hope in the middle of hard times.

Format: Kindle Edition
Author has a way of drawing you into the personal lives and events of 911 as though it were happening now, not nearly 15 years ago. For those of us who experienced deeper loss it brings back too many painful memories yet such is life....
