Book Description

October 20, 2000
In the year 2013, a group of scientists in Alaska's frozen Arctic are reanimating cryopreserved humans. They don't realize they are stealing the souls from the living, ripping through the barrier that lies between life and death. LaNaya Seville, the project's physical therapist, is an empathic healer and a descendent of a tribe of Inuit sorcerers. She has walked the perilous path between the spirit and physical worlds, but is still unprepared for the catastrophe Project Resurrection is creating. Humans, body and soul, are being sucked through a deadly vortex guarded by an ages-old evil that feeds on the energy of his victims. LaNaya must use her psychic gifts to close the rift, or sacrifice her life to save humanity from extinction.

The heroine is the gem that lifts the tale from the ordinary as she battles with her own dark side... -- Midwest Book Review

From the Inside Flap

Standing at the head of the bed, LaNaya looked down on the man's peaceful face. His eyes were closed, his cheeks slightly flushed, a lock of black hair feathered across his forehead. She instinctively reached out to smooth the hair away, but abruptly drew her hand back. This was not David Bodine,.

LaNaya's breathing hitched with a startled gasp. She stepped back, squinting at the stranger stretched out before her. An aura of blue-sparked gray surrounded the man, but...No! This was not a man. Here lay a handsome teenage boy who, like David, hung onto life by the faded, silver thread of his spirit.

She blinked hard and the room began to waver. It rippled as though seen through the watery grave of her remembered death. Then, as if remolded by an invisible hand, everything around her--walls, bed, blanket and even the patient himself -- transformed back to what they had been.

I loved the book, I started reading it on the plane coming home from vacation, and couldn't put it down. Really makes you think about the after life, and what it really could mean. A real science fiction, romance story, with alot of adventure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thought-provoking page-turner, December 4, 2000
By

This review is from: Project Resurrection (Paperback)
I just finished reading PROJECT RESURRECTION. It's a breathtaking paranormal adventure with an inspirational romance.

In the not-too-distant future, 2013, a group of scientists and doctors work to revive the dead bodies of cryogenics who died in the 1970s. There's a slight problem: when these people died forty some years ago, their souls continued their journeys of reincarnation into new, living bodies. Now, bringing these soul-less cryogenics to life is causing their prior souls to be ripped from the currently living in order to return to the souls' prior physical bodies.

LaNaya Seville, the protagonist and physical therapist for the project, has a dark secret. She carries psychic connections to the afterlife and the fascinating world between the living and the dead. She learns that, should she fail to free these lost souls, human life as we know it will cease.

High stakes and crisp writing make this book hit the floor running. By page four, a man is brought back from the dead to a living, silent agony, and LaNaya's challenge begins.

The story caught my interest immediately and I enjoyed the suspense, which remained high right to the end. I enjoyed the romance, which spans time and lifetimes.

This novel offers excitement and intriguing food for thought.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read!, March 20, 2001
By
This review is from: Project Resurrection (Paperback)
The year was 2013, the place was Alaska. Decades ago, Cassandra had breast cancer. Dr. Terrace Labriola would not allow his wife to have the breast removed. So he "preserved" his wife's body against her will. He created Project Resurrection to reanimate cryopreserved dead. However, he never thought about the souls of those "preserved bodies". The souls later were reborn in new bodies. Reincarnation. When Dr. Labriola reanimated the bodies, the souls were sucked OUT of the new bodies. Thus both bodies were in comas and the soul was stuck in "the in-between place".

LaNaya Seville was the project's physical therapist. She had died before, but did not make it to the after place before her body began functioning again and pulled her back. When she "awoke", she was an empathic healer. She used her title as physical therapist to hide the fact that she was using her unique gift to help heal her patients. She, and a few close others, learn of the stuck souls and rush to figure out how to help them before an evil beyond claims the souls and energies of the victims. Somehow, Project Resurrection had to be stopped...permanently!

***** A highly entertaining read that will force its readers to sit up and take notice! Recommended reading here!
