Better than last Season by far! Thank you for doing away with the weekly team challenge concept. However, the drama this year was overboard in my opinion... just not something I'm into. I guess that is par for the course for reality TV, but I'm more interested in the creativity and the heart of who someone is as a designer. There were two individuals in particular - really pushing the boundaries. Were they truly that way or was this the 'magic' of produced reality TV? Either way, not a fan of that. And is the talent pool getting shallow? There seemed to be many designers who lacked essential sewing skills and knowledge. Anyway, 4 star because I'm happy they went back to the old formula. Kudos for trying something different, but I feel individual challenges give a better idea of a designer's aesthetic (or lack thereof). Heidi is still my favorite all time host and love the dynamics of the judges - even when I don't agree with their choices.

This season seems to have taken the project out of project runway and replaced it with all manner of consumer product placement instead. Drama between designers has taken over the drama of the challenges, and the resultant clothing is often predictable and problematic on many levels. Critiques from Mr. Gunn are sadly lacking as is much discussion of the "meat" of the challenges. The venerable PR may have indeed have been slowly jumping the shark for several seasons, but this season has it landing flat with little hope of revival. Seems grim, but after 11 seasons of going from absolutely loving, to feeling "meh" about PR, I'm more than sad to see it lose its way...

The drama this season is a bit over the top and makes it a little stressful to watch. I like watching the creative process more than the diva-antics, which I wish they'd tone down.

It's so refreshing to watch a reality show that requires its participants have brains and talent. The contestants are fashion designers vying to be one of three finalists who get to show a collection at New York Fashion Week. I am constantly amazed at what they can accomplish in the weekly design challenges. They have to whip up couture gowns or other clothing genre from materials found anywhere form a traditional fabric store (New York's Mood) to hardware stores, candy stores, or even a collection of auto parts. Most weeks they only have a day to complete their garments. It's fascinating to see what they can accomplish. Their mentor, Tim Gunn is extremely nurturing and always offers solid advice as their work progresses. The hostess Heidi Klum does a wonderful job and proves that she's much more than a pretty face. Judges are designer Zac Posen and Nina Garcia of Marie Clare magazine who are offer constructive criticism but are also quite supportive of the contestants. Each week there is a celebrity guest judge. They range from designers, like Roberto Cavelli to celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker, January Jones, or Susan Sarandon. A designer is eliminated each week unti they're down to three. The three finalists are then given money and a few months to design their collections. Each season ends with the Fashion Week runway show and the selection of a winner. It's really fun to see so much talent at work. There's a little bit of the reality show "drama" between contestants but that seems to be downplayed and doesn't get much attention at all. That's one of the many reasons i enjoy this show.

I love the changes that have been implemented this season. The show was due for a bit of a makeover. Only a few of the contestants this season have over-the-top, drama causing personalities. Timothy's absurd meltdowns were so funny to watch. I can't believe i'm saying this, but i miss seeing him on the show. I was dying of laughter when he was teaching his model how to stumble down the runway as if she was being pulled by an unseen force.

Typical Project Runway season. Heavy editing and unusual judge's choices. The final 3 were a disappointment. There have been far better winners from other seasons. Loved Kate and Helen. Too bad one of them didn't make it to fashion week.

Tim Gunn is and always has been the best part of Project Runway. He truly is an expert in his field and its so gratifying to hear more from him this season- hes very insightful. I also like his gentle Fathering/ mentoring of some of the more emo contestants! They need someone to reign in their antics. Btw, being 'real' does not have to be rude and being rude is not the opposite of being fake.

I have seen all episodes and seasons of Project Runway since the beginning, and feel that the designers from Season 12 were not as compelling as in other seasons.

I do like how they changed things up a bit in Season 12 and have the anonymous runway show, where the judges don't know who the desinger of the fashion look is until after the runway show. Also, the judges look at the designs up close along with Tim Gunn after the runway as they are making decisions for the winner and loser of the challenge which is really nice. Plus, Tim Gunn is granted one "save" for the season where he can opt to save a designer who will otherwise be eliminated.

Good season overall, but I feel that the design talent is slightly lacking.
