5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, December 10, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Project Seek: Onassis, Kennedy and the Gemstone thesis (Paperback)
I worked for Hughes during the time of the event described as his "kidnapping." At the time, the entire Staff on Romaine street was in a major uproar, ostensibly because of a "falling out" between Hughes and Noah Detrich. However, the behavior of some members of the staff subsequent to this event have convinced me that a great degree of truth is contained in Gemstone.

5.0 out of 5 stars PROJECT SEEK: The Best You Ever Spent, May 17, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: Project Seek: Onassis, Kennedy and the Gemstone thesis (Paperback)
An extraordinary analysis and cross-reference of the Gemstone File, which concludes that many of the bizarre Gemstone events might have really happened: Howard Hughes may have been kidnapped by Aristotle Onassis and replaced by a double, while the real Hughes lived his life out as a zucchini on a Greek island! This book digs up so much dirt your mind will never be clean again. Haven't you wondered why Jackie-K became Jackie-O

5.0 out of 5 stars With PROJECT SEEK, Who Needs Fiction?, May 17, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: Project Seek: Onassis, Kennedy and the Gemstone thesis (Paperback)
"Project Seek" is a provocative and riveting exposé. Front-page news stories surrounding the death of former first lady Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis provided sharp contrast as I read the sinister findings of author Gerald Carroll's painstaking analysis. In its original version, the Gemstone File pointed its finger in a shocking direction in efforts to shed light on corruption surrounding the assassination of JFK. Thousands of the original photocopied handwritten pages were passed out in the San Francisco Bay Area beginning in 1969. Carroll has done his homework. Using historical evidence, this spellbinding indictment carefully peels away superficial gloss to lay bare a sordid underbelly of American history, worldwide corruption and greed. Apocalyptic themes in Hollywood films pale in comparison to "Project Seek." In these pages, truth is ominously stranger than fiction: Worldwide links of opium, heroin and cocaine drug cartels; oil industries; Mafia; politicians and U.S. government intelligence operations ciled in, then fleshed out to include names, dates and motives. For example, Vietnam involved purposeful drug addiction of American soliders through a 10-year reshuffling of troops; the "kidnapping" of Howard Hughes and other major topics. This book, including 30 rare photographs and diagrams, is a mind-boggling experience

5.0 out of 5 stars Gemstone author: "Thumbs Up" on PROJECT SEEK, May 17, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: Project Seek: Onassis, Kennedy and the Gemstone thesis (Paperback)
"Project Seek: Onassis, Kennedy and the Gemstone Thesis" (@1994, Bridger House, 1-800-729-4131), does an outstanding job of researching and documenting the starkly suppressed statements I made in the 22-page "Skeleton Key to the Gemstone Files" which I released in 1975. "Project Seek's" 388 pages are packed solid with new information, relevant original interviews, footnoted sources and rational analysis. It clearly documents, supports and expands on perhaps 80 percent of the original Gemstone Key material. In fact, it is just the book I have been hoping someone would do, some day. It has fulfilled its stated aim: A "determination to find out how truthful Gemstone File author Bruce Roberts actually is." Carroll brings to his subject 20 years of experience as a newspaper reporter, columnist and editor with Gannett, Copley, Thomson, Hearst and McNaughton companies, including 10 years at the Hearst-owned San Francisco Examiner

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful supplemental research for Gemstone File history, September 30, 2006
This review is from: Project Seek: Onassis, Kennedy and the Gemstone thesis (Paperback)
Gerald Carroll did a marvelous job of seeking out the truth behind the "Skeleton Key to the Gemstone File." With several hundred pages from Bruce Porter Roberts' original Gemstone papers published in "The Gemstone File - A Memoir", "Project Seek" is still an excellent, well-written and well-researched supplement for people who want to understand more about what has happened to our world over the last 50 years.

This review is from: Project Seek: Onassis, Kennedy and the Gemstone thesis (Paperback)
This thick new volume on the famous Gemstone Files is complete with additional research and photos. An extremely valuable book that looks into the roles of Howard Hughes, (Aristotle) Onassis, World War II conspiracies and the Kennedy assassinations in the light of a mysterious document known as the "Gemstone File."

5.0 out of 5 stars PROJECT SEEK: An Important "Must Read" Book, May 17, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: Project Seek: Onassis, Kennedy and the Gemstone thesis (Paperback)
It is an understatement to say there is now a plethora of new so-called "conspiracy" books flooding the market. These are easily divided into two categories -- first, a category which encompasses the great majority of such books, a hasty rehash of material which has been shamelessly lifted from a number of older works and melded into a "new" look at conspiracies; and second, a book which offers a genuinely useful examination of the conspiracy material in circulation. "Project Seek" must be included in the second, and much rarer, category. The author, Gerald A. Carroll, has credentials that many conspiracy writers lack. He is an accepted member of the academic community, who also has had 20 years of experience with a number of leading newspaper companies in the United States. "Project Seek" is a serious examination of the well-known Gemstone Files, which have circulated since 1975. Carroll has employed his considerably journalistic skills to weave the material from the Gemstone Files into a comprehensive explanation of contemporary history. He makes an impressive contribution to out understanding of the "nether-world" of modern history by exposing the role of Aristotle Onassis and other shadowy figures as key players in such events as the John F. Kennedy assassination

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent research on a vital view of U.S. History by a great journalist, April 21, 2007
This review is from: Project Seek: Onassis, Kennedy and the Gemstone thesis (Paperback)
Gerald A. Carroll spent years researching the Gemstone File history, and produced the best volume of documentation and analysis yet available. Well written and great reading, reads like an excellent mystery story but it's all true.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Golden Key " Project Seek", August 24, 2010
This review is from: Project Seek: Onassis, Kennedy and the Gemstone thesis (Paperback)
I was a teenager when JFK, was assassinated. This event completed the loss of my innocence. Over the years, I read many books about President Kennedy's murder. This book answers many of my questions.

I am looking forward to a book which is written someday which weaves the complete story. The complete story of this event, the killing of our beloved president is vast because it goes back many years. It will take several additional books.

All one need do is look at our economy today, look at where the USA is today. Then go back to Europe look at the wealthy family's from Europe, and the USA. This is where the story lies. It will go back a few hundred years, to get to the JFK assassination. It will be a fascinating read I hope some gutsy person researches it, and writes it someday.

Great book, and one courageous writer.
