Projections of the Consciousness presents 60 of Dr. Vieira's most varied and instructive out-of-body experiences (OBEs or astral projections) with candid realism. He relates events in non-physical communities, the profiles of which include: education; assistance in the transition of biological death; therapies for physical and non-physical dysfunctions; non-physical preparation for upcoming physical existence; non-physical preparation for physical motherhood.

His out-of-body encounters range from those involving assistance given to "earth-bound" non-physical consciousnesses (spirits) and extraphysical rescues, to attainment of a total expansion of consciousness (nirvana, cosmic consciousness) and transcendence of the space-time continuum. He also illustrates the dynamics of OBE as a function of being projected in different physical and non-physical dimensions and communities in varying conditions.

The author has been having lucid out-of-body experiences on a continuous basis since the age of 9. Projections of the Consciousness is a result of his projective prowess, the work of the extraphysical helpers, as well as a near-death experience he had in the early 1970s.

Dr. Vieira reveals the full spectrum of what awaits us beyond the physical dimension.

About the Author

Born on April 12, 1932, in Monte Carmelo, Minas Gerais, Brazil, Waldo Vieira is a physician and dentist, and holds a post-graduate degree in plastic surgery earned in Japan. He has been having lucid Out-of-Body Experiences since the age of 9.

He has been an independent researcher of the consciousness and its manifestations outside the body for the past 30 years. He is the founder and president of the International Institute of Projectiology and Conscientiology.

Dr. Vieira is a long-standing member of the American Society for Psychical Research (ASPR) in New York, USA, the Society for Psychical Research (SPR) in London, England, the Brazilian Association of Parapsychology in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and others. He has assembled one of the largest libraries in the world on the subject of Consciousness Research.

More About the Author

Born on April 12, 1932, in Monte Carmelo in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, Waldo Vieira graduated in Medicine and Dentistry, followed by post-graduate studies in Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery in Tokyo, Japan.

A conscious projector since the age of nine, he has been researching the consciousness and its out-of-body manifestations for more than 50 years. He is the progenitor of the sciences of projectiology and conscientiology, which he outlined in two treatises: Projectiology: A Panorama of Experiences of the Consciousness Outside the Human Body (1986) and 700 Conscientiology Experiments (1994).

He is the author of hundreds of published articles and 18 books related to consciousness research, and in 2002 was included in the International Biographical Centre's Who's Who of the 21st Century.

He was among the founders of the International Institute of Projectiology and Conscientiology - IIPC, a non-profit education and research organization based in Brazil. Today there are a full 14 organizations whose existence can be attributed to his pioneering work in projectiology and conscientiology.

He is currently pursuing research at the Center for the Higher Studies of Conscientiology (CEAEC), a research center located in Iguassu Falls, Brazil, home to 17 research laboratories and Vieira's personal library of more than 63,000 volumes - one of the largest collections in the world on the theme of the consciousness and the out-of-body experience. There he coordinates teams of researchers who compile entries relating to the broad universe of the consciousness for inclusion in a multi-volume Encyclopedia of Conscientiology.

I have read this precious book at least 3 times and now keep it as an indispensable reference book. My personal experience with this book has been extraordinary! Projections of the Consciousness is a rich fountain of practical information that enabled me to experiment with various energetic techniques and served as a reference guide in terms of the different extraphysical communities encountered when one is out of the body. THE MAIN DIFFERENCE THAT I FOUND BETWEEN THIS BOOK AND OTHER BOOKS ON THE OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCE IS THAT THIS BOOK ADDRESSED OUR PERSONAL LEVEL OF ETHICS AND COSMOETHICS IN RELATION TO OUR OBES. Why are we researching the OBE? Why are we going out of our bodies in the first place? What are our INTENTIONS vis-a-vis extraphysical contact and communication with others? This book inspired these crucial questions. A MUST READ AND A BOOK TO ENJOY FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES. Most touching.

Of all the books on out-of-the-body experiences that I've read, I found Projections of the Consciousness to be the best due to it's realistic description of extraphysical reality. PC is not sugar-coated - it is to the point. It is filled with useful information that can be a help to conscious projectors and those yet to have the experience. I've read the book a total of three times and with each read, I get more incite. It is truly a worthwhile read.

I have found this book to be one of the best out there on the subject. It is the author's diary of 60 willed out of body experiences.

The layout is excellent with a short explaination of his mental and environmental state before the OBE, followed by a description of activities that occured while out of body. Then relevant material and hindsight are added.

I found myself reading one or two of the 60 chapters before bed and it really gets you inspired and appreciating that the phenomenon is real. I still refer to the book often.

It contains heaps of metaphysical info and great insight. The way that other conscious personalities assist the author in leaving the body, teach and perform tasks with the author while out of body is amazing and something rarely mentioned to any great extent in other books.

The author has formed his own glossary of terms and jargon in the study his "projectiology". Although this was a bit hard to grasp in the beginning, you soon get used to it and appreciate it's originality.

Quite often books on this subject are written by authors with all this information on the subject, ie: method, method, method; but they hardly ever mention their own experiences, and if they do, they are not seriously examined. This book is entirely different. It is a well thought-out, intelligent and inspiring record of real experiences.
