5.0 out of 5 stars Quality concept album from legendary emcee and original DJ, July 31, 2006
This review is from: Projecto: 2501 (Audio CD)
Well, it appears that no one owns this album!! This is the first review. Projecto 2501 is a concept album brought to us by the mastery lyricism of Tajai from Hieroglyphics and SupremeEX, a DJ I have never heard of before except on the NUNtype album. I personally believe that Projecto 2501 is better than NUNtype simply because there are more lyrics by Tajai. Like NUNtype though, 2501 is far from traditional Hip hop and purists might be scared to listen to this album. This is experimental hip hop mixed with traditional hip hop. It's tight and I really enjoy it. But that could be because I am into the cyberpunk futuristic music, especially from emcees. Tajai fans should pick this and NUNtype up because Tajai spits some tight rhymes on both albums. Concept album lovers should pick these up too. Since the story is already told in the editorial review, I'm not going to explain it again. If you can stomach music that transcends beyond boundries and norms, pick up Projecto 2501. Shing02 spits some lyrics in Japanese(I believe), its tight. And I also believe that SupremeEX samples The Smashing Pumpkins song Beautiful on the song Contact.
