This particular product, the "ADVANCED" Caffeine is not the same as the pills you get with the regular Prolab caffeine. This stuff is labeled as "natural" and probably is...I have no problem with that either way. However, if you are looking for your simple average little white caffeine pills this isn't it. These are sort of tea/chocolatey smelling brown pills that I don't think have exactly the same potency or the regular pills at the same mass (200mg). In other words I am not sure you are getting as much actual caffeine with these pills as you would get with the "pure" ones. Still...if you want to hang out closer to the "natural" side of things this may be for you. If you are like me and you just want your caffeine straight-up and nothing "added" or extra then you may want to go with the plain Caffeine from prolab or just about any other brand (I think they are all just about the same).

I work from home and often stay up very late into the night for it is so quiet and easier to work then. Being an editor, it is not merely a question of staying awake, but remaining alert and fending off a mental tiredness. That is to say, sometimes I am not all that sleepy, but mentally I find myself often not being very creative nor productive when the hour is late, or I have been at it just too many hours in a row. When the night is still young and I know I have a full night ahead, a nice fresh pot of coffee is the preferred defense strategy. But some flavorful java doesn't come across as the most viable solution once the hour gets very late, and I still want to make it well into the wee hours. For the early hour alternative, I very much prefer Advanced Caffeine. It accomplishes what I want very efficiently as to maintaining alertness, and besides, it also doesn't require that one become so familiar with the bathroom during its use as with coffee either... :D

A lot of people on Amazon and other places that talk about caffeine pills and its uses seem to speak of it being a physical stimulant, and the energy boost one receives from it. Although it is certainly of good use in that familiar sense, I do believe that a lot of people that need to stay not just awake, but alert and productive can also make great use of these caffeine pills. I personally feel a very obvious, but yet subtle stimulation that allows me to work for several hours on just a single dose. Since caffeine is not something that easily affects me, I take the maximum dose recommended all at once. But for anyone else trying these pills for the first time, I would recommend taking a half dose first. Especially if you are one to find yourself well "wired" after a regular cup of coffee. Taking too much of this supplement can have the same effect on you as one too many cups of coffee will have. You will become jittery and nervous and will totally be without the true advantage of the caffeine supplements intended alertness and energy.

In short, Advanced Caffeine is in my opinion a very safe and effective supplement for those of us that may find ourselves occasionally working some long hours, and, are unfortunately expected to be more than just awake, but productively alert. It has helped me through many nights of long chapters where I was sometimes amazed at the amount of work I got done by the time I was ready to finally snuff the midnight oil. I really don't know if Advanced brand caffeine is really any better than any other brand available here on Amazon. I can only tell you its the one I use for its easily available here in health and vitamin stores, and I have been using it for a couple of years now. If it were to be discontinued for any reason locally, I would have no problem buying here on Amazon. The price is very reasonable here, and it's an especially good deal if you order several bottles at once and make the shipping charges worth it. I highly recommend Advanced Caffeine for the occasional use intended...

I like mine cheap. It's all 200mg of caffeine people. don't spend tons more for name brand caffeine. When I don't feel like making coffee, I pop one of these puppies into my mouth and it's go time. If you want to take a power-nap, do it after you take the caffeine. How? When your really tired midday, set the timer for 20 minutes (no more, or you'll fall into REM and wake up groggy), take one of these and take the nap. You'll wake up 20 minutes later super refreshed. Backup PETA, by puppies I meant caffeine. Unless we're talking about pomapoo's. Pomapoo's just look delicious. You know what? Pop a caffeine and help yourself to a pomapoo.

I always used to fall asleep in school because I wake up at four in the morning to do a paper route, so most nights I get like 4-6 hours of sleep. Since I started taking one every morning before school I never fall asleep and I'm getting better grades :D. I never seem to feel the crash either.

I'm quite dependent on caffeine, and I've tried all the sources. This 'advanced caffeine' is far more effective than popping Vivarin or chewing espresso beans. These don't give me an upset stomach or problems later, and they don't make me jittery. I think because its derived from teas instead of only coffee beans. I recommend to all fellow college students!

I was expecting a bottle of wide-eyed alertness. Instead I seem to have a bottle of yawn. Normally, 1 cup of coffee will give me a mental boost for a few hours, so I was expecting at least a bit of a kick from these "200 milligram" tablets. I got nada. No boost of energy, alertness, or really anything.

+++A+++ Quality I wasn't sure whether to try this brand of caffeine, but given the company's excellent reputation w/ other products, I decided to try it. I'm SO glad I did. I take caffeine pills everyday, and I know the difference between Quality caffeine and generic caffeine. This product is Definitely high quality and comparative to No-Doze. Comes in tablet form, so it is possible to only take 1/2 if you need a boost, but do not want to take an entire tablet :) +++A+++

Bought this item in November 2009, took about half the bottle. Label said the pills expired in October 2009. Just realized it today on July 21, 2011 after my girlfriend looked at the bottle. Partially my fault.

Product works. Can feel the energy boost. It's not over-the-top considering the amount of caffeine in it, but definitely has the desired effect. The only issue I have is that I was sent an expired product!!! Hopefully, results won't be reduced due to that fact.
