Works like a charm...softens flashes for more natural lighting. I mainlu point my flash upwards, whether I shoot horizontally or vertically. Most times (not sure if the diffuser or the flash) I have to overexpose my flash by about 1 1/3 or 1 2/3 more to get the look I desire. When I point flash directly, add at most 2/3 more flash exposure.
Haven't used the orange head yet. When I tested it out, it gives the overall look an orange cast, as one might imagine! Don't see a need for it with my photography, but it's always nice to have more than you need, right?

Fits tightly on flash - I've never had a problem with it falling off. Able to mold it to fit into your bag, but I have a Lowepro bag and it fits tightly once I zip it up.

Glad I received info to get this one as opposed to the Gary Fong one...saves me money and I imagine it works exactly the same! Highly recommended!!!

It's pretty loose on my 430 EX II, but fits great on my 580 EX II...

The light is great... diffuse and gives a nice glow. I use this for events and have been happy with it thus far.

And for quite a bit cheaper than Fong diffuser, which is an overpriced piece of modified tupperware...

Works well. I usually use this in portrait evening shots with the sun setting in the background. At these times, this add a good fill-in flash without looking like a flash was used.
Soft plastic becomes distorted when stored. But once installed on flash and cap is put on, it forms back to its spherical shape.

Yeah, this item is a great buy. It works well with my 580ex II. I don't see a big difference between it and a standard flash diffuser cap. But it's worth the buy at this price, (should you not have a diffuser cap already in your bag.) The amber top is quite orange, and only helps in certain situations when dealing with skin tones. But works well, and is a huge help when you need it.

Overall,
it's a standard fit that could start to slip as time goes on. It's made of a Soft rubber and fits snugly on the 580ex II, will you be able to pick up your camera just holding the dome? NO! But on the other hand, why would you?

It's a tool like anything else. I would not use it in all cases, when you get to a shoot try it out. See if you like the results. If not, remove it. After all we are after the perfect shot, that require a few things; one of them being the proper tool.

I have used the Gary Fong globe for over a year. I love the results, but the Fong would occassionally fall off. (Roll across the floor, making this odd looking thing seem rediculous.) HOWEVER, it does serve a purpose. If you don't have a good surface to bounce light from, it is wonderful. I ordered the prolight for a different size flash. I love the white and golden tops. This has a place, and works well. Definately worth the money. Fits the 580 exll very well. Have not used it enough to see if it too, falls off. I was really impressed with the speed at which this dome reached my home. 3 days from order to door. Amazing. Faster then the order placed with amazon for the 4 other items shipping from Amazon. This was sent from Rainbow direct. Could not be happier.

it does have a stong odor, like chemicals or plastic. not interferring with my pleasure one bit.
