I thought this would be a book with text, with a history of the prom, the timeline, and some anecdotes. There is very little text, and it is mostly photos of couples. It's a nice blast from the past, but it should be labeled as a book of photos. The text is negligible, and doesn't add much to the book. If you want to look at old prom photos, get the book, but if you want to read funny stories or about the history of the prom, this is not the book to get.

True, hearing the stories of those pictured in this book would be great, but just seeing the pictures of the tux's and dresses from the 70's and 80's - hilarious. It is so interesting to see how styles have changed over the years. I think I'd like to see some updates and additions to this book - to include the 90's would be great, too. I went to prom in the early 90's and remember the black velvet and shiny fabric seeping in from the 80's, we looked HOT.

But my Aunt and Uncle who just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary are in it! The friends they went to prom with are also in it and are also married 50 years! Gotta love it! I bought this at Amazon.com from an Awesome Deal I found on DailyTool.com.

I definitely suggest this book, it provides a unique perspective of proms past.
In fact, if you look at the last photo that encompasses two color pages, you can see me in all my 80's glory. I am thanks to Ms. Stein, in the definitive tome for cool retro prom style.

This is the second book I've read by this author. The first was "Cheerleader: Ready? Okay!", and I loved them both. She provides a complete history of the prom as we know it, and the photos are fantastic. A perfect coffee table book and a great gift.

Purchased this book for my niece. She'll be attending her senior prom in the next fews weeks, I thought this would be a
'cute' little book for her. To my surprise, the entire book
is photos of individuals in their prom 'outfits'.

If I wanted my niece to 'see' individuals in their prom 'outfits', I'd had sooner give her her grandmother,
mother's and great aunts senior albums.
