Connie Jefferson is a nice woman who never acts out except once with affluent realtor Marshall James before scurrying back to the safety of her boyfriend Steady Victor. Her old high school rival Deandra Morgan loves being a bad girl as she relishes big especially in her men and no one comes juicier or bigger than Marshall James.

Marshall enjoys the uninhibited anything goes show me the money Deandra, but has not forgotten the best sex of his life; that one night with sweet Connie when he got her to let her hair and much more down. When he and Connie meet for the first time since that explosive evening, he thinks he better make up his mind as Connie has his heart and upper head, but Deandra owns his lower head; or does she?

This engaging erotic triangle with a nod to the Lovin' Spoonful's "Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind" is an entertaining contemporary romance. The story line is fast-paced and few male leads come across as fully developed as the confused Marshall does. Although the females are stereotypical polar opposites, fans will enjoy wondering who Marshall will leave behind between uninhibited sex and a complete person in love with him.

3.0 out of 5 stars Erotic Romance, May 22, 2008
This review is from: Promiscuous (Paperback)
Overall, I found Promiscuous, by R. Moreen Clarke surprising. R. Moreen Clarke lives in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Her debut book, Quench My Thirst, gained her a spotlight as a featured author in BET Dallas, Sisters in Spirit Book Club, and Book Lovers Haven.
Shy and reserved, Connie Jefferson is the good rich girl. Though she finds her boyfriend, Victor stimulating, she's having a difficult time forgetting the chance encounter with an old friend. Deandra Morgan has an insatiable appetite for the richer side of life. As a wild teen she was shunned by Connie and her friends for not being as wealthy and posh. But now she's dating Marshall James, a wealthy real estate developer, and everything she desires is within reach. Marshall, at first, was drawn to Deandra, but after finding Connie again he wasn't so sure. However, Deandra isn't giving up that easily to Connie, not again, and she'll do anything to win.
First, let me point out that this is an erotic romance and not intended for the faint of heart. It is a sexually explicit book.
I found quite a few comma errors which caused me to have to reread a sentence several times to grasp the point. Also, there were several times throughout the book where paragraphs needed to be broken up, and a new one begun. It was difficult to determine whose mind we were in at the time. The beginning of the book, or chapter one, I found to be distasteful. It began with a slumber party of sixteen year olds engaging in sexual gratification exercises. It was inappropriate, to say the least. As with most erotic romances, I found all the sex to be a tad redundant after awhile.
In saying that, I was pleasantly surprised to find this book had an interesting plot and good, strong characters. Typically in erotic romance you are hard-pressed to find a plot, and the characters are one-dimensional. Cue the cheesy music... This was not the case with Promiscuous, By R. Moreen Clarke. All of the characters, even the secondary ones, were believable and interesting. You felt their pain, frustration, and desperation. The plot flowed very well and there weren't many, if any, dead spots. There always seemed to be something happening, which flowed nicely into another segment. And, of course, the sexual encounters were stimulating and titillating. After the success of her first book, I see this one taking off, too. R. Moreen Clarke has a good career ahead of her in this genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars Romance Erotica At It's Finest, August 7, 2008
This review is from: Promiscuous (Paperback)
Connie Jefferson is a reserved and shy woman who is the perfect good girl. She has a very romantic and seductive boyfriend named Victor who caters to her every need. But Connie finds herself in a difficult situation when Victor's wandering eyes become a problem and she longs for the ecstasy that she shared with another man years ago. Deandra Morgan has grown from a wild teen to a cold and calculating woman. She loves living in the lap of luxury and lots of mind-blowing sex. Deandra will stop at nothing to get what she wants, even if it's a wealthy real estate developer named Marshall James. Marshall is immediately smitten with Deandra until she starts exhibiting some unsavory behavior that makes him question if she's the right woman for him. Things get really interesting when Marshall reconnects with his old friend Connie. Marshall and Connie's feelings come back to life as they remember a steamy tryst from long ago. But Deandra will not let Connie stand in the way of her happiness with Marshall.

Promiscuous is a seductively steamy novel by R. Moreen Clarke. Clarke masterfully takes readers on an erotic journey with this story. One of the key elements that makes this story stand out is the rich character development. You will feel and understand the acts of all of the characters including Deandra. This novel is also full of drama and jaw-dropping twists that will have you glued to the pages. You will definitely need to pay close attention as the events of this story unfold. Promiscuous is a spicy page-turner that is a definite winner for anyone that loves a good erotic romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Promiscuous is a read for MEN as well!, June 21, 2008
This review is from: Promiscuous (Paperback)
I was handed this book by my wife to read. I had never read a "romance" book like this before. I was very curious and started to read it. The opening scenes intriqued me, they were very well written and HOT! I must admit I was enamored by the main character. Her exploits and story was addicting. I barely could put the book down, I had to keep reading to see what was next! The character backgrounds, the pace of the story, the exciting insights, and of course the sexy parts, were spot on! Highly recommended!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Life's Lessons - 3.5 Rating, May 10, 2008
This review is from: Promiscuous (Paperback)
As Promiscuous by R. Moreen Clarke begins, we meet high schoolers Connie Jefferson and Andie Moore, who along with some others are at Connie's home for a slumber party. All Andie wants is to finally have some friends to call her own. While at the slumber party, Andie convinces the other girls to "sexually" liberate themselves. But while some of the girls participate, they never counted on being caught by Connie's mother, Arlene, who promptly threw Andie, the mixed breed misfit, out of her home. Andie was confident she had made some friends but she was sadly mistaken. The incident only served to alienate her from the other high schoolers even more which lead Andie to blame Connie for always appearing as a goodie two shoes, a saint.

Fifteen years later, Andie, now Deandra Morgan, has targeted her next conquest, Marshall James. He can provide her with everything she thinks she deserves from a man, all the finer things in life including damn good sex. When Marshall begins to court Deandra, he knows she is a gold-digger but that does not stop him from fully enjoying the situation or sex as much as he can. But when his path crosses with Connie Jefferson, he is reminded of that one passionate romp they once shared years ago. When Deandra encounters Connie and notices Marshall's reaction to her, she promises that Connie will not take away her gold mine; thus, once again ruining her life. And even though Connie is currently in a relationship with Victor, she cannot help but remember the passion she shared with Marshall. There is much trouble brewing under the surface of each couples' relationship and many lies and truths that will arise alter each person's life forever.

Promiscuous boasts a combination of erotically written fiction with enduring qualities. At first glance, Deandra seems like a lost cause, a gold-digger with only anger to fuel her ambitions. But as the story proceeds, readers get the chance to understand why Deandra acts the way she does. Then there is Marshall, who is a flawed hero so to speak, but who could blame a red-blooded heterosexual male with taking full advantage of a gold-digger and their ways? The twists delivered by R. Moreen Clarke gives new meaning to the saying be of careful how you treat other people, you never know when you will encounter them in your life again. Promiscuous is definitely a book I suggest for readers looking for erotic fiction with romantic undertones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Captivating Experience, February 10, 2009
This review is from: Promiscuous (Paperback)
Promiscuous contains an ensemble of mystery, excitement, erotica, and love. This story transcends obstacles and exposes an addiction that is the fling for the disorder in the Ms.Moores' life. The story was captivating, couldn't put the book down for a moment, I wanted to continue reading on, to find out what Ms. Andie Moore was up to next. There were all types of emotions experienced in reading this Story. Overall I would say YES this is the book to read. I'm just waiting for another one of R Moreen Clark books to surface.

Review by Carlo Gabbi Author of "An Amazing Story"

Connie Jefferson is the typical upper-class good girl who has a stimulating relationship with her boyfriend, Victor.

But she can't forget the time she has a carnal encounter with a friend, Deandra Morgan, who has proved to have an insatiable appetite in lifestyle, good houses and lot of sex.

Deandra, as young wild teen, was humiliated by Connie and a group of rich school friends only because she wasn't of their class.

At this time Deandra has a handsome boyfriend, Marshall James, a wealthy real estate developer, who has been attracted by her inhibited nature and voluptuous figure. She has everything she dreams, until Marshall meets Connie, and that marks a sharp detour in Deandra's life.

Deandra doesn't give in so easily to Connie. She is prepared to do anything to retain her prestigious relationship and love with Marshall.

The book has an interesting plot, with good strong characters including those of a lesser importance. The plot run smoothly, where there is always something new happening. There are many stimulating sex scene, but this is an erotic romance, so it doesn't disturb the harmony of the entire book.

All together it is quite a valuable and interesting book in its genre.
