This Book Is a Must-Read for All Christians, July 2, 2010
This review is from: The Promise of Jonadab: Building a Christian Family Legacy in a Time of Cultural Decline (Hardcover)
The authors document how America is facing an unprecedented spiritual, political, economic and moral crisis. Their book "The Promise of Jonadab" gives the Christian a game plan to cope with the troubled times that lay ahead, in their examination of the life of the Old Testament figure Jonadab. Through his faithfulness to God and passing his faith down to his descendents, Jonadab was able to prepare them to survive the future destruction of Israel. The authors also draw upon their own experiences rearing their children in a Christian home. They present good Biblical documentation that success in the eyes of God is to pass down a Christian heritage to one's children and "keep the flame alive."

Excellent for young Christian couples starting families, July 7, 2010
This review is from: The Promise of Jonadab: Building a Christian Family Legacy in a Time of Cultural Decline (Hardcover)
Young Christians will especially take heart from Ray and Gail Moore's wisdom as expressed in The Promise of Jonadab. While some might think there is no hope for America and no hope that Christians can raise children with a solid Christian commitment, the Moores prove from the Scriptures that we underestimate our God to think this way. One way they do it: After spotlighting biblical characters who grew up and lived under less than godly circumstances but who came to the God of Israel and formed God-fearing families (e.g., Ruth), the Moores offer this inspiriting insight: "Some of the readers of this book may be new Christians, the first in their own families. Their own fathers and mothers may not be in the faith yet. As heirs to the promises and covenants of Scripture, they can begin afresh to lay down a new Christian family. An exciting road of a multigenerational family legacy can lie ahead. In setting such a cornerstone for your own family, you may also stir up your weary Israelite (or Christian) brethren, some of whom have become tired in their faith and so accustomed to the laws and covenants as to take them for granted or ignore them entirely." A multigenerational Christian family legacy like Jonadab's can happen! May the Lord grant that we might see this tremendous truth, as underscored by Ray and Gail Moore in The Promise of Jonadab, lived out in Christian families across America and throughout the world.

Great Gift Book for New Parents, July 5, 2010
This review is from: The Promise of Jonadab: Building a Christian Family Legacy in a Time of Cultural Decline (Hardcover)
Beautifully bound and reasonably priced, The Promise of Jonadab is a concise, easy to read blueprint showing parents how to pass their family legacy and beliefs on to their children. In a day when the current generation tends to lack conviction and "go with the flow" seems to be the accepted philosophy, this book teaches parents how to raise children that are not afraid to go against the tide and rise above mediocrity and compromise. The reader learns about Jonadab, a little-known character of the Bible, and the influence he had not only on his children, but on his descendants for several generations. What was it about this man that made his family follow his godly example for hundreds of years after he had passed from this earth? We learn these priciples in a point by point study of Jonadab's life and a look at the life of modern day parents who are developing a living legacy in their own children and grandchildren. Fascinating real life men and women illustrate different aspects of Jonadab's family leadership and show us how following these principles can help modern parents triumph as they seek to raise godly children.
